Pondok Pesantren Roudhotul Ulum Cidahu is a Pesantren that uses the Salaf system & is located in Cidahu Lebak Village Rt.01 Rw.01 Tanagara Village, Cadasari District, Phistory of pesantren andeglang Regency, Banten Province.

The early history of the establishment of this Pesantren was led by the KH. Muhammad Dimyathi Amin who is familiarly called Abuya Dimyathi who was born in Pandeglang in 1930 AD. He was the first son who lived until adulthood according to the KH couple. Amen & Nyai Hj. Ruqoyyah. Abuya started pioneering Pesantren in Cidahu Village in 1975 AD.

At that time, there were still few students & still hitchhiking to people's houses because there was no kobong (Pesantren Building made of wood and bamboo), it was not until 1977 AD that Abuya was free from prison because of the dzalimi by the new order rulers at that time, he began to create kobong. But over time the students continued to grow until they reached approximately 500 Santriwan and 200 Santriwati Muqimin and Thousands of Santri who were not Muqimin.

They come from a lot of regional areas in Indonesia. The development of the number of Santri is in line with the popularity of science and the great name of Abuya. Therefore, it is not surprising that Abuya is not only known in Pandeglang as well as Banten but in Indonesia and even the world.

Thanks to Abuyalah Kampung Cidahu (Jalan Raya Pandeglang – Serang Km lima) as a center of Islamic education & pedagogy & became the attention of the people to the World. Even Pandeglang Regency is known to many people, one of the charismatic figures of Abuya.

The education & training of Religious Science applied by Abuya to Pesantren Cidahu became a barometer for other Pesantren in Pandeglang in particular and several other Pesantren in Banten &surrounding areas. Because those who arrive to visit Abuya are not only people who want to become Santri Muqim or Santri nir Muqim, but there are also many Ulama & Kyai who preach or ask For Advice & Advice to Him, so it is very appropriate if He has the title of Shaikhul Masyayikh / Kyainya para Kyai.

Abuya is a Banten Ulama figure who has charismatics & is quite perfect in combining Shari'at & Thariqat so that he can achieve Haqiqat.

Since the mini Abuya Dimyathi has revealed his privileges that no one else has, he is Siyahah, Tholabul Ilmi and Tabarruk from one pesantren to another, based on ulama Sepuh one to ulama Sepuh lain on Java Island &Opposite Island for 38 years (1937 AD - 1975 AD), starting according to the closest one, namely Pesantren in Kadupeusing Pandeglang under the care of KH. Tb. Abdul Halim, Pesantren Sempur Plered Purwakarta under the care of KH. Tb. A. Bakri, Pesantren Payaman Secang Magelang which was taken care of by the KH. Siroj, Pesantren Watu Congol Muntilan Magelang which is taken care of by KH. M. Nahrowi (Mbah Dalhar), Pesantren Kedung Paruk Purwokerto who was taken care of by KH. Abdul Malik, Pesantren Bendo Pare Kediri who was taken care of by the KH. Khozin Al-Muhajir, Pesantren Gontor led by KH. Zarkasyi, Pesantren Lasem Rembang under the care of KH. Baidlowi & KH. Ma'shum, Pesantren Kaliwungu Kendal under the care of KH. Ru'yat etc. to the farthest Pesantren in Lombok NTB under the care of KH. M. Zainuddin Abdul Majid, and during that time Abuya was always in the spirit of enduring a very hunger.

After the death of Abuya Dimyathi who died on Friday night, October 03, 2003 AD the leadership of Pesantren Cidahu was held by Abuya Dimyathi's eldest son, KH. Ahmad Muhtadi Dimyathi until now with the help of another Son & Daughter of Abuya Dimyathi, namely KH. Murtadlo Dimyathi, KH. Abdul Aziz Dimyathi, KH. Muntaqo Dimyathi, KH. Muqotil Dimyathi, KH. Mujtaba Dimyathi, Alm. Hj. Musfiroh Dimyathi & Hj. Qoyyimah Dimyathi.

KH. Ahmad Muhtadi Dimyathi who is familiarly using the name Abuya Muhtadi was born on December 26, 1953 AD. He since his mini has been going around following his father with an education from his father who was very extraordinary for 38 years (1965 AD - 2003 AD), as a result he was very ready when he had to relay to hold the leadership of Pesantren Cidahu & continue his father's business.

Pessimistic circles are of the opinion that the Salafiyyah Islamic Boarding School is a certain traditional education as a result of which it is difficult to develop in the midst of the people. The reason is that so far the pattern of education that has been held is too slow to give birth to the figure of graduates that the community expects. Islamic Boarding Schools that combine religious rooting & general pedagogy will exist more, because they are considered to have social adaptability abilities.

Meanwhile, for those who are optimistic, it is the opposite. Pondok Pesantren Salafiyyah is a forum for education and empowerment of the people until whenever it will continue to exist, because it has unique traditional characteristics of Indonesia and its presence is intended to meet the educational needs of the people, especially rural communities. Intense, harmonious, mutually needy &beneficial interactions between Salafiyyah Islamic Boarding Schools using residents make this Pesantren more stable & sturdy.

Therefore, the views of pessimistic circles are rejected by the Salafiyyah Pesantren circles, which include the Cidahu Islamic Boarding School. Pesantren Cidahu even though it is a Traditional Salafiyyah Pesantren but in reality poly is in demand by students, especially those who want to deepen learning the Yellow Book. Students who arrive at Pesantren Cidahu have an adequate educational background & most of them have pocketed formal diplomas both equivalent to junior high school, senior high school and even S2 graduates.

The pattern of studying in Pesantren, for example, has a positive impact because they have an extraordinary concentration, do not spread it with formal education or a passion for formal education.

The students who live in Pesantren Cidahu are mostly alumni of other Islamic boarding schools spread across Indonesia. Their motivation continued their study at pesantren Cidahu because:

a. Want to develop and continue the salary of the Yellow Book in general and in particular for the direct interest of improving yourself & practicing the knowledge that has been obtained during the later study in the community.
b. Want to follow in Kyai's footsteps.
c. Maintaining &participating in educating the nation.
d. The books taught are not all taught in other Pesantren, while the Book of Fiqh is the focus of its recitation above other Pesantren.
e. Spiritual energy, peace of mind and coolness of soul that are not obtained in other Pesantren.

In contrast to modern Islamic boarding schools which are equipped with complete facilities according to the santri room or dormitory, classrooms or halls, learning equipment &so on, in terms of rides & recitation infrastructure for Pesantren Cidahu, there are no ones that need to be exhibited, everything is minimal.

The Santri daily lives in a dormitory which is considered kobong (pesantren building according to wood &bamboo). Pesantren Cidahu has 13 Kobongs, each of which is occupied by approximately 20-30 Santri. The ngaji place is Abuya Muhtadi's house which is now functioned as a grand hall that can accommodate all Students &not equipped using learning facilities such as White Boards, Computers, Laptops, let alone LCDs.

The learning process is carried out very traditionally where the Santri only have books, books & pens. There are no administrative activities such as attendance form boards, Santri value recap books, Santri registration lists and so on which are generally expected by an educational institution or organization.

Although there is no administrative record, Abuya Muhtadi has never forgotten anyone who is absent from the recitation & He is very aware of the quality level of the Santri one by one.

Students who are in charge of Pesantren Cidahu are not at all charged a penny porto, they are only required to pay and worship. The yellow books studied were all provided by Abuya Muhtadi to help the students who could not keep following the recitation, while the payment of the Book could be credited according to the students' abilities. Meanwhile, for the daily food needs of the students cook / ngliwet themselves, except in the month of Romadlon where for suhoor & iftar has been borne by Kyai.

Pondok Pesantren Salafiyyah is a type of Islamic Boarding School that only prioritizes the recitation of the Book &nir organizing formal education or Islamic Boarding School which is oriented towards teaching full religious knowledge (Tafaqquh Fid-diin) with the sorogan or Bandungan method. Salafiyyah Islamic Boarding Schools are often categorized as Traditional Islamic Boarding Schools because they emphasize more on teaching the Yellow Book.
