AL-HIKAM 34th WISDOM OF WISDOM

 34th WISDOM OF WISDOM

 لَا تَتَعَدَّ نِيَّةُ هِمَّتَكَ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ فَالْكَرِيْمُ لَا تَتَخَطَّاهُ الْآمَالُ.

"Get out of the human nature that can prevent your worship (to Allah). So that we can answer God's call and get closer to Him."

Humans are deliberately created with various characters. However, all these characters are integrated in 2 important things: positive and negative.

Positive characters such as helping, having good morals, respecting the old, friendly to colleagues and loving to the young.

While negative characters such as arrogant, greedy for wealth, vindictive and fanatical. Well, character number 2 is what we know as "lust".

Every human being has positive and negative sides. Allah deliberately designed humans to have such a character (Qur'an 91:7-8).

(7)    and the soul and its perfection (its creation),

(8)    Then Allah inspires to the soul (the way) its wickedness and piety.

Then the correct rule is; Positive characters are preserved, while negative ones are avoided. The pleasure of worship with Allah should not be disturbed by lust. Very fitting with the warnings of Ibn Athaillah in the opening earlier, "Get out of the human traits that can prevent your worship (to Allah)".

This word of wisdom invites us to keep the way our character works stable. A positive personality will give birth to positive things too. Then the question is, what is the wisdom of Allah creating humans plus their lusts? Isn't that lust that makes humans so wretched in the world?

What is the purpose of God attaching to creating a negative character, while telling humans not to get close to the negative influence of lust? These kinds of questions often come to our mind, without realizing it, we have been a bit presumptuous of God. Then what is the wisdom?

The answer, said al-Buthi, is that positive and negative human character actually has great potential, you know, if both can be subdued. Just imagine, if you succeed in conquering your own lust, then you will be able to change the attitude of selfishness into positive motivation. If you are stingy, then fight the miserly nature, until it is subdued and turns into a benefactor. A vengeful nature can eventually become merciful. Fight your grumpy nature, until he becomes friendly. Fight all the traits that plunge, until he becomes a profitable friend / friend.

All traits that have a negative connotation, if they can be utilized as well as possible, can be a great potential that leads their owner to heaven. Then how to conquer these negative traits so that he becomes tame? The answer lies in good education and good science concepts.

Because quality education and a qualified concept of religious knowledge will have a positive effect on the superior character of students in the future. Well, this is where the importance of religion emphasizes proper education from an early age. Islam highly values science. At least with the right way of teaching Islam, the children's perspective is also correct. If this is successful, Islam will also benefit.

And it is not impossible that the concept of modern sciences today can all be Islamized, as long as it is accompanied by a strong effort. The proof is that scholars who are experts in various fields of science, especially religious sciences, have a high position in the hearts of Muslims.

It is very different from the framework or perspective of western people, which separates religion from science. This way of thinking is typically secular. People who do not know the relationship between self-character development and science, mostly do not believe in religion or do not believe in their religion. In philosophical terms there is an adage like this: "Bad morals will never turn into good". Once bad will be bad forever.

This kind of thing does not apply in Islam. Islamic teachings emphasize a good way of cadre for all its adherents. All efforts made to improve the character of the nation's successor are very noble in the view of Islam. This is the character of true religion.

We have a real guide for navigating this life: the Koran. Allah sent down the Quran to be a guide for our lives. If the noble teachings of Islam have been integrated and unified in every human person, this path of life is very beautiful.

Try to imagine when our behavior, way of thinking, how to manage our business and all our needs are in line with the Qur'an, the negative characters will dissolve and disappear by themselves from us. What emerges are positive qualities that can motivate life.

Believing in everything that Allah has ordained also falls into this category. Confidence in the heart of the goodness of God's provisions will bear positive fruit. The various calamities that you experience, if addressed with grace, will bring out wisdom from within. Everything must have a point.

A person who is aware of the wisdom of God's destiny, then his body will respond positively to God. The body will feel light when worshiping. Take for example the wisdom of our Salat. If Salat has become a routine and self-need, he will automatically be able to counter negative things.

When this body language there is only prayer, then the personality of the body will submit. If the body is submissive, then it will never be arrogant again. So it is with all other positive routines. Convince your heart that all of that will have a positive impact on your body and character.

Allah deliberately sets humans with the rules of the Shari'a, so that they become noble creatures. So that their character is not the same as animal lust. Lust that is wild, free and without rules will make humans despised. Humans and animals are of course very different.

This parable is mentioned by Allah in QS 95:5, that humans who always obey their desires will be turned upside down to become the most despicable person.

"Then We will return him to the lowest (hell)"

Then you have to be yourself, who is not tempted by lust let alone carried away by negative currents. So that you can get closer to God.

"Get out of the human qualities that can prevent your worship (to Allah). So that you can answer God's call and get closer to Him"

Thus Wisdom 34. Hopefully we can feel good when worshiping Allah. Amen ya rabbal alamin.

Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings
