al hikam wisdom 27
من اشرقت بدايته اشرقت نهايته
"A beautiful ending depends on a beautiful beginning."
It seems that there is no need to explain at length the meaning contained in this wisdom 27 which is nothing but a complement to the previous wisdom. But what needs to be underlined is; Age, as well as charity, are considered husnul khotimah depending on how one starts. If he is able to start life in the age phase with good deeds, there is a guarantee that the end of the story will be good later. Then what is meant by "a good start" as a determinant of the good ending of one's life journey? Where is the relevance?
The "good start" is the tarbiyah (educational process) that a salik takes on his way to hadariotillah. Namely faith education that can nourish the mind and purify the heart in order to form charity and personal piety at the same time. If a person is able to tread this initial phase, and manages to internalize it within himself, then it will not be difficult for him to take the mystical step.
So the interaction that takes place with the community in their environment is based on the principle of muraqabah (researching) the presence of God. The interaction that is built on this principle is called akhlakul karimah;
1. Follow the path of Allah
2. Muraqabah in building social relationships.
If a salik is able to internalize the 2 things that are the core of this morality, then the life of the world and the hereafter is guaranteed for him. Then Ibn Athaillah continued that this success is not certain in personal life, but can also occur in Islamic society.
Islamic society will not achieve glory so that it begins the process of its individual life with the training of reason and soul. Tarbiyah of mind and soul here is an educational process that is carried out by every individual Muslim according to the rabbinical manhaj in the Qur'an and Hadith.
So what about the lives of Western nations that are able to reach the pinnacle of glory, even without going through the rabbinical manhaj in question?
Before being answered, it is also necessary to ask about the success they have achieved so that it must be collided with the concept in the Study of Hikam? Because the success of the infrastructure and the layout of an established city cannot be equated with the moral depravity and the epidemic crisis of exemplary.
So back to the initial understanding, that personal piety is formed from the good education taken. as well as social piety must go through the stages of education and purification of the heart. The specialness in this case ushers in a succession at the end of the story.
Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings
