Al-Hikam Wisdom 33 Rely on Allah

Al-Hikam Article 33 Rely on Allah

 ٭ ماتوَقـَّفَ مطلبٌ انتَ طَالبُهُ بِرَبِّكَ ولاتَيَسَّرَ مطلَبٌ انتَ طالبهُ بِنفسِكَ ٭

“Allah is the Most True, not hindered by anything. But what is hindered is you from looking at Him, because if Allah is blocked by something, surely Allah SWT can be covered and if it can be covered then Allah is confined. Everyone who is trapped must have a master. While Allah is the One who has the highest power over all His servants."

To understand the meaning of the word of wisdom above, al-Buthi provides a sample as an example so that it is easy to distinguish the expression of the word of wisdom.

Pay attention to the following expressions! "The sun was covered from me" and the phrase "I was covered from the sun".

The first expression fits the condition if there is a cloud in the Sun layer that blocks you, so it is covered. While the second expression, matches the condition if in your vision there is a hijab that can block the sun's rays.

It means that the first situation is that the Sun is veiled from you and the second is that you are covered from the Sun, different. The question is, is it possible that there are conditions that match the words "God is hidden from humans or from an existing creature?"

If you think about it, you will understand that under any circumstances, it is impossible for the existence of Allah to be hidden from one of you or the other. Because if Allah is veiled by something, it means He is in the zone of power of the thing that covers Him, it is impossible for Allah SWT.

This is the essence of the meaning contained in the word of wisdom “إذلوحجبه لستره احجبه لوكان له اتر لكان لجوده اصرا”

That is, items that are covered represent a limited space for him and are only confined within the area of the veil that covers them. Because if not, it will definitely be open and can be seen by many people from outside the zone.

Meanwhile, between the cover and the covered goods must be separated, not in one place. All of these things are impossible for Allah SWT. Ibn Athaillah points to two important essences behind the understanding of kalam wisdom that we discuss this time.

The first essence is the area of aqidah and the second is the realm of tarbiyah and suluk (education and the journey to makrifat to Allah. We understand together the two divisions directed by Ibn Athaillah regarding the meaning of the word of wisdom above, please continue.!

The first is related to the realm of aqidah, namely the contents of the following words of wisdom: "Indeed Allah is hidden from me or from all His servants." This expression should not be said at all, because at the time of saying it seems to make the Essence of Allah as a covered object. It means that there is a subject who controls and controls to cover the Essence of Allah SWT, and assumes that Allah is in a place.

Meanwhile, Allah SWT has the nature of   الفة للحوادث which is different from new things from all sides, such as not being in the form of objects, not having a place and so on.

Know it! In the beginning all nature and its contents did not exist, then it was created by Allah SWT who is all in His control. So all of the universe is in need of Allah, not the other way around. How could the Creator need the created?

And how can the Khaliq be controlled in the domain of His creatures? Of course it's very unlikely. Dharuri and intuitively, all the presumptions and estimates above are very impossible to happen to Allah SWT, the Most King and Most True.

Understanding related to the second area, is the zone of education and mysticism, the review is as follows. By nature, humans know Allah as their Lord, they tend to long for and love Allah, whose existence there is no barrier. Only when he paces in the labyrinth of the world and is immersed in his deceit and inclined to lust and lust. Then there will be a veil that knit and shroud in his heart and mind that makes him forgetful and stupid not like before. Finally he will close his heart from makrifat to Allah, his heart will not be like before.

After understanding the two essences of meaning, we must know the most important tasks and activities that must be prioritized in their implementation. That is doing good deeds diligently and istikamah, if it can remove the hijabs that have accumulated in our souls.

The hijabs reduce the nature of faith, and blind the eyes of the heart from seeing the light of God that emanates from the colonization of nature. And only with God's light, the universe can be seen bright, as has been quoted in the previous wisdom:

"All natural entities were originally dark and invisible, only illuminated by the light of the form of Allah Almighty."

While the right way to get rid of the hijabs that have accumulated in our hearts totally is a true reconciliation between the spirit and its longings, the body and its needs so that the body always serves the needs of the spirit, not the other way around. Because the eternal and eternal essence in us is the spirit, while the body will be damaged and disappear.

And later on the day all creatures are resurrected, Allah will make the Spirit a new place for the body, in accordance with the new order. So it becomes obligatory for us, to always cultivate the heart with love and ta'dzim to Allah SWT. And multiply dhikr, read the Koran while mentadabburi and be grateful for all the blessings that have been bestowed on us. So that the feeling in our hearts, God's form is really great and world entities look despicable and mortal. Finally, the eyes of our hearts will always see the greatness of Allah and the fog of obstacles will disappear in the glare of love and devotion to Him.

Such is wisdom 33.

Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings
