Hikmah - 8 Jalan Makrifah

Al Hikam Wisdom - 8

  

 اِذَا فَتَحَ لَكَ وِجْهَةً مِنَ التَّعَرُّفِ فَلاَ تُبَالِ مَعَهَا اِنْ قَلَّ عَمَلُكَ  فَاِنَّهُ مَا فَتَحَ لَكَ  اِلاَّ وَهُوَ يُرِيْدُ أَنْ  يَتَعَرَّفَ اِلَيْكَ. أَلَمْ تَعْلَمْ اَنَّ التَّعَرُّّفَ هُوَ مُوْرِدُهُ عَلَيْكَ وََالْأَعْمََالُ اَنْتَ مُهْدِيْهَا اِلَيْهِ . وَاَيْنَ مَا تُهْدِيْهِ اِلَيْهِ مِمَّا هُوَ مُوْرِدُهُ عَلَيْكَ

It means :

If God opens the way for you to enlightenment, then you should not care about your deeds which are still few, because God does not open the way but He wants to introduce Himself to you. Don't you know that knowledge is His gift to you, while all your deeds are your gift to Him? Where is the value of your gift to Him compared to His gift to you? 

Explanation :

People whose hearts are pure will receive the radiance of Divine Light into the eyes of their hearts who will see the fact that Allah is the Most Noble, Most Holy, Most High, and cannot be recognized unless He introduces Himself (makrifat).

There is no knowledge and practice of any kind that can convey to that degree of makrifat. If this is truly realized, then there is no way to reach Allah but to surrender completely only to Allah and do not depend on charity or knowledge.

In the journey of a person's enlightenment, a person is not free from the possibility of doubt, discouragement and even despair, if he still leans on something other than Allah. So there is no other choice but to surrender completely to Allah, only He has the absolute power to choosing His servants who deserve to know Himself. Knowledge and charity are only used to form a mood that surrenders itself only to God. Only the servant of God who reaches the degree of total self-surrender is likely to receive the gift of God to know Himself (enlightenment). So this path of total surrender is the gateway to enlightenment.

People who are looking for a way of surrendering to God, they will try their best to be mujahadah, fight against the temptation of lust, be diligent in performing acts of worship, and love to seek knowledge.

The outside is busy carrying out the Sharia, the inside is busy strengthening the faith. Allah's Word in Surah Al Ankabut: 69, which means; And those who strive really hard to fulfill the will of Our religion, indeed We will lead them to Our path, and indeed (help) God is with those who improve their deeds. Oh

Those who strive for the path of God by seeking knowledge and practicing it, increasing worship, dhikr, purifying the heart, then God shows the way by giving taufik and guidance so that the mood of surrendering to God is open to him, without hesitation and satisfaction with what he does for the sake of God swt

So he was taken to the gate of enlightenment, which only God determines enlightenment.
