Mahfudzot Class 1 KMI Gontor and his explanation (21-30)

Knowledge without practice is like a tree without fruit.

It is clear that knowledge that is not put into practice is a real futility. A person who spends his day and night seeking knowledge but does not practice it, is the same as a farmer who works hard every day to plant a fruit tree, but the tree does not give any fruit.

Unity is the root of success.

We all know that one of the causes of the colonization of our country by foreign countries was the result of the division of our ethnic groups at that time. Because without unity, an association, organization or state will be easily destroyed and disbanded. Therefore, if you want to achieve success, the first thing to consider is to build unity.

Do not insult the poor, but be a helper to him.

Because in essence all the property that we have in this world is only a deposit which can be taken back at any time by Allah, the Owner. So because of that it is really inappropriate for us to look down on others who happen to be given less wealth than us. We should help that person because in the property we have, there are actually other people's rights that we have to share.

The glory is with adab (character), not with offspring.

Therefore, one should not boast about his ancestors by mentioning his ancestors, because even if his ancestors were honorable people, what does it mean if he himself is a person with bad morals?

Man's salvation is in guarding his tongue (his words).

There are many people whose lives are ruined just because they can't keep their mouths shut, therefore it is very important for us to think before we speak, and should not speak except for the good. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him say good or remain silent." (Narrated by Bukhari – Muslim)

A person's adab is better (more valuable) than his gold.

He, because what is valuable in the sight of Allah is faith, deeds and morals. Not his property. After all, the glory of a person is not seen from his wealth, but is seen from his temperament and actions.

Damage to character is contagious.

The point is that all forms of bad morals tend to be more quickly spread and imitated by many people than good morals. Because in humans there is a lust that always encourages humans to do bad things. Therefore, we should choose a good environment to live in because even though we ourselves are not affected by the destruction of character in the environment around us, what will happen to our children and grandchildren later?

The disaster of science is forgetting.

It means that in studying, the main thing that hinders us is forgetting, therefore we must often repeat the things we have learned so as not to be lost and forgotten.

If his will is right, the way will be opened.

That is, if someone really intends and is determined to do something, a way will definitely be opened for him. On the other hand, if a person never intends to do something, it will surely appear to him a thousand reasons not to be able to do it.

Do not insult someone who is lower than you, because everything has advantages.

Everyone is born into this world with different potentials, traits, and abilities, some are physically strong but weak in mind, some are intelligent but physically weak, and some are physically strong, intelligent in mind, but apparently have other shortcomings. The point is that we should not look at other people's eyes, because maybe behind someone's shortcomings, there are other advantages that we don't know about.
