Mahfudzot Class 1 KMI Gontor and his explanation (51-60)

The best of things is the middle (medium).

The meaning of this Mahfuzhat is that we should stay away from Ifrath (Too much) and Tafrith (Too little) in everything. For example, too much worship to the point of neglecting the body's right to rest is not a good thing, nor is it a good thing to underestimate worship.

Remember the hadith of the Prophet SAW which tells about one of the companions who said that he would not sleep all night for the Sunnah prayers, another said he would always fast every day, while another friend said that he would stay away from women and would not marry.

It turned out that the Prophet's comment on their words at that time was: " Indeed I am the most fearful of Allah and the most pious of Him, but I fast and break my fast, I pray and I sleep, and I marry women. Whoever hates my sunnah, then he is not one of my group ". (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, and Ahmad).

This means that we must be balanced in everything, neither too much nor too little or underestimation.

Every place has its right word, and every word has its right place.

In speaking, there is art that we must pay attention to. In addition to ensuring that what we say is something true, we must also ensure that it is said at the right place and time.

If you are not ashamed, then do as you wish (what you wish).

This Mahfuzhat is taken from the Hadith of the Prophet narrated by Imam Bukhari, with the complete editorial as follows:

The Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him- said: Verily the expression which was known to the people from the sayings of the previous Prophets was:   " If you are not ashamed, do what you like ." (Narrated by Bukhari).

The meaning of the hadith is that one should always have a sense of shame (to do things that are not good), because without this shame one will be free to do whatever he wants regardless of whether it is good or bad.

In addition, the meaning contained is that shame is part of the things that were agreed upon since the time of the previous Prophet until the time of the Prophet Muhammad. Therefore, in another hadith of the Prophet it is also mentioned that shame is a branch of Faith.

However, it should also be noted that this shame should not prevent us from doing the right thing, because in the Qur'an Allah SWT says, which means: " And Allah is not ashamed of the truth " (Al-Ahzab: 53).

It is not a reproach for the poor, but the reproach lies in the stingy person.

Yes, poverty is not a disgraceful thing as long as that person is trying to get halal sustenance, because indeed everyone has their fate and sustenance determined by Allah SWT.

As for stinginess or stinginess, then it is a very despicable behavior, not only hated by Allah, but also hated by humans.

It is not orphans whose parents have died, but (actually) orphans are orphans of knowledge and character.

The point is that people who are orphans (do not have) knowledge and character are actually sadder than people who have lost their parents. Because losing parents, although it is a very sad thing, but it is not something to be disgraced. As for the loss of knowledge and character, then it is a very sad thing, as well as a disgrace that must be addressed immediately.

Every work has a reward, and every word has an answer.

This means that nothing is in vain, everything we do, whether in the form of work or in the form of words, will definitely be rewarded. The other meaning of Mahfuzhat above is that there is no question that has no answer, and there is no problem that has no solution.

And always associate people with what you like about them.

What it means is that we have to treat people the way we want them to treat us. This means that if we want people to do good to us, we must also do good to them. And vice versa, if we don't want to get treatment we don't like from them, then we shouldn't do something they don't like.

The real example is: if we want to be respected, then respect others. If we don't like being joked too much, then don't joke too much with other people, and so on.

Destroy someone who doesn't know himself.

A student who continues to play and relax even though he knows that he will soon face a final exam, is an example of a person who "does not know his level". This means that he does not know that he is still stupid and needs to learn.

In this life, we must always reflect on ourselves, introspect ourselves, and know our strengths and weaknesses. We must always equip ourselves with what we need in the future. If not, then we will not be able to withstand the challenges that sometimes come suddenly in the future.

The head of all that sin, is a lie.

Usually, people who commit a lie will try to cover up the lie, and not infrequently the way to go is to cover the lie with other lies. So that one mistake  also produces new mistakes so that it becomes a great sin.

Whoever wrongs (others) will surely be wronged (recompensed).

There is no human deed that goes unanswered. Moreover, if this is an injustice, Allah will surely retaliate, sooner or later. In a hadith the Prophet SAW said:

' Whoever wrongs a person in terms of an inch of land, on the Day of Judgment he will be covered with seven earths .' (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).”

In another hadith, the Prophet SAW also said:

The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: " Indeed, Allah will delay the punishment of the wrongdoers. If Allah has punished him, then He will never let him go ." Then the Messenger of Allah read the verse which reads: 'Such is the punishment of your Lord, when He punishes the inhabitants of the lands that do wrong. Verily His punishment is very painful and severe .' (Qs. Hud (11): 102).

Naudzubillah min dzalik, may we all avoid the injustice of others and also avoid doing injustice to others. Amen Ya Rabb.
