Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School (Ivory Malang)
Hasan Munadi is the figure who founded the Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School (PPMH) or also known as Ponpes Gading Malang, in 1768. Currently, the reins of leadership have been held by the 4th generation successors, namely the sons and daughters of KH. Muhammad Yahya.
Previously, when KH. Hasan Munadi died, the leadership was continued by KH Ismail in 1858, then raised by Muhammad Yahya in 1971, which is now carried on by his descendants.
At the same time, genealogically KH. Muhammad Yahya himself is said to have a lineage with one of the songo guardians, namely Sunan Gunung Jati in Cirebon.
Ponpes Gading Malang is famous for its science of reckoning, which is usually used as a reference to determine Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha holidays. Regarding teachings, this Islamic boarding school is famous for its cottages that emphasize the teachings of Sufism, namely the teachings of knowing and getting closer to God.
Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School has five focuses of Islamic teaching to its students, namely Ubudiah, Fiqh, Sufism, Tauhid, and Khutbah.

Initially, this Islamic boarding school was named Pondok Pesantren Gading Malang because of its location. His journey did not experience a significant improvement, until after KH. Hasan Munadi died, this Islamic boarding school was raised by his first son, KH. Ishmael. Not alone, he was assisted by his own nephew, KH. Abdul Majid. Even the children of KH. Abdul Majid, a daughter named Nyai Siti Khodijah made his adopted son until finally his adopted daughter was married to an alumni of Ponpes Miftahul Huda, namely Jampes Kediri, namely KH. Moh. Yahya who comes from the Jetis area of Malang.
In the hands of KH Moh. This Yahya, the third generation after the death of KH. Ismail is 75 years old and has been taking care of his Islamic boarding school for 50 years. Since KH. Moh. Yahya, the name Pondok Gading changed with its new name "Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Huda". Since then, the students have been allowed to study in formal institutions outside the pesantren, this policy is considered a brave and rare policy, but because of this, Pondok Gading is growing rapidly.
The education system is divided into three parts, namely: Ula Level (Basic Level Education), Wustho Level (Middle Level Education) and Ulya Level (Upper Level Education).
Arithmetic
In Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School , Hisab is one of the most famous in the community. The results of the reckoning from Pondok Ivory are used as a reference to determine the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha holidays. In addition, Pondok Ivory is also known as Pondok Sufism, this happens because Pondok Ivory is a thoriqoh cottage, namely thoriqoh qadiriyah and naqsabandiyah.
