Modern Islamic Boarding School Misbahul Ulum Lhokseumawe

The first Islamic boarding school in Aceh that we will discuss is the Misbahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. Misbahul Ulum which means the lantern of knowledge was founded in 1989 by Tgk. HM Thaib Mahmud with his colleagues. At that time Misbahul Ulum was established in the form of MTs.

In carrying out his education, Misbahul Ulum is guided by his vision, namely: "Misbahul Ulum is the center of Islamic education that gives birth to a generation of Muslims, pious believers, consistent and spirited warriors in an effort to ground the teachings of Islam, able to uphold the commandments of makruf nahi munkar, towards a happy life in the world and the hereafter. ." From this vision, several educational missions were born in the form of:

Educating students with the provision of Islamic teachings which include aqidah, sharia and noble character as an absolute requirement towards the best people (khair al-ummah).

Educate students with comprehensive knowledge which includes: Islamic sciences, linguistics, natural sciences and mathematics, as well as social sciences and useful skills to achieve future success, so that they will become experts in zikr and fikr in religious matters, able to enforce Islamic da'wah through admonition of makruf and nahi munkar.

Prepare students and graduates who are able to enter higher education in various disciplines, so that they have optimal abilities to become future leaders.

Currently, Ponpes Modern Misbahul Ulum organizes 2 educational programs, namely: a 6-year education program (elementary school graduates/equivalent) and 4 years (for junior high school graduates/equivalent).

Dayah Ummul Ayman Bireun

Next is Dayah Ummul Ayman. Dayah Ummul Ayman is an Islamic educational institution with an integrated education system which was founded in 1990 by Tgk. H. Nuruzzahri who is familiarly called Waled Samangga. In general, this institution aims to educate students as individuals who are tafaqquh fiddin and explore general sciences that are in accordance with the developments of the era of globalization.

Regarding the curriculum, Dayah Ayman combines two curricula, namely the formal curriculum and the non-formal curriculum. For the formal curriculum, this dayah collaborates with the education office and the religious office to support education for junior high schools, MA, and the Islamic College of Sciences (STIS).

As for the non-formal curriculum, Ummul Ayman uses the dayah salafiyah curriculum, with the deepening of the salafiyah books written by the salaf scholars to support education, so that the students will get broad and comprehensive knowledge.

In general, the formal education in this dayah is:

STIS (equivalent to s-1 Department of Family Law and Muamalah)

Dayah Darul Muta'allimin Meulaboh

Next up is Dayah Darul Muta'allimin. Dayah, which is located in West Aceh, was founded by Dr. Mr. Hj. Zikriati MA in 2008. Institutionally, this dayah is under the Al-ashqalani Foundation.

In carrying out their education, this dayah adheres to its vision, namely: "The development of Qur'ani people who have noble character, are independent and have achievements." From this vision, several educational missions were born in the form of:

Building a syar'i and quality educational atmosphere

Familiarize educators, students and education staff to memorize the Qur'an

Encouraging and facilitating the development of students' talents and interests

Facilitating educational activities that can stimulate and improve student achievement

Increase the confidence of students with mastery of science and technology as well as broad insight.

The advantages of this dayah are:

The curriculum used is the integration of modern education curriculum with dayah education (salafiyah).

In addition to school education and dayah, students will receive special guidance in the field of Al-Qur'an hafidh, Arabic and English, and special coaching for subjects that are competed in the National Olympics.

In daily life in the dormitory, the students/lessons will be accompanied and guided by mentors who have special skills in memorizing the Qur'an and are proficient in Arabic and English.

Currently Dayah Darul Muta'allimin organizes Islamic boarding school education as well as formal education for junior high and high school levels.

Next is Dayah MUDI. According to history, Dayah MUDI was founded along with the construction of the Grand Mosque whose first stone was laid by Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636 AD). The first leader of this dayah was named Faqeh Abdul Ghani. 

In carrying out her education, this Dayah adheres to her vision, namely: "To give birth to scholars and intellectuals who are based on five souls who become ruhul ma'had, namely sincerity, simplicity, independence, ukhwah Islamiyah and freedom." From this vision, several educational missions were born in the form of:

Organizing education based on the aqidah ahlussunnah wal congregation and worship based on Syafi'iyah fiqh.

Educating and fostering piety of students and the ummah through faith, knowledge, charity and da'wah bil wisdom wa al-maw 'idhat al-hasanah.

Strengthen, maintain, and maintain Islamic values ​​in accordance with the understanding of the salaf al-shalih scholars.

Creating a generation of people who are independent and able to work within the framework of Islam, faith and ihsan.

Until now, MUDI Mesjid Raya manages several activity units. Starting from TK al-Aziziyah, TPQ Muhazzabul Akhlaq al-Aziziyah, to the Institute of Islamic Religion (KAI) al-Aziziyah Samalanga. Even Dayah MUDI Samalanga's education is already at the tsanawiyah (junior high) and aliyah (high school equivalent) levels, even at the high level of ma'had aly.
