Sunan Drajat is one of the Wali Songo who comes from Gresik and has spread Islamic teachings on the island of Java. 

The figure of Sunan Drajat is also known by various other names such as Raden Syarifuddin, Masaikh Munat, Prince Kadrajat, and Maulana Hasyim. Sunan Drajat has a wife named Dewi Sufiyah, the daughter of Sunan Gunung Jati who later has children named Prince Rekyana or Prince Tranggana, Prince Sandi and Dewi Wuryan. After that, Sunan Drajat married Nyai Kemuning the daughter of Mbah Mayang Madu from Jelak Village.

The following year, Sunan Drajat moved one kilometer to the south and founded a pesantren in Drajat Village, which is part of the Paciran area, Lamongan Regency. It is said that from the name of the place where the pesantren stood, that is the name Sunan Drajat came from. 

Sunan Drajat's Da'wah Method Sunan Drajat preached by using art media, including suluk and tembang pangkur. In addition, there is also a Catur Piwulang teaching which contains an invitation to do good to others. 

The contents of Sunan Drajat's teachings, known as Catur Piwulang, are: Paring sign marang kang kalunyon lan wuto (give sticks to people walking on slippery roads and blind people) Paring food marang kang kaliren (give food to hungry people) Paring sandang marang kang kawudan (give clothes to naked people) Paring umbrella marang kang Kudanan (give an umbrella to people who are raining) In preaching, Sunan Drajat is very concerned about the fate of the poor, orphans and abandoned people. 

He is also a figure who invites nobles and rich people to issue infaq, shodaqoh, and zakat according to Islamic teachings. Sunan Drajat died in 1522 AD and his grave is in the village of Drajat, Paciran, Lamongan, East Java.
