The 39th Syarah of Wisdom – Syarah al-Hikam
"Do not convey your desires to other than Allah, because they have no right to such things. It is Allah who made you this way."
"People who are not able to fulfill their own desires, how can they be the focus of others when problems come to them?"
The temporary conclusion from this word of wisdom is: don't even think about asking other people for help when you have a problem .
No matter how complicated the problem you are facing, then make God your main focus. Because only God can help you. So that you are not mentally pessimistic, then you must know the rules of psychological work yourself first. Before you talk to Allah, you have to be MUHASABAH first.
MUHASABAH means self-introspection. Often you count the good and bad yourself. Then try to associate it with Allah's destiny. If you are a Muslim and believe in the divinity of Allah, then you must also believe in Allah's destiny. Your destiny is good or bad? That it is God's destiny and certainty that makes your life colorful with various kinds of problems, calamities and other trials. Also use the common sense that God has bestowed on you, invite him to think too.
Often use reason as a medium to know God. Because then, slowly your reasoning will become straight. By getting used to reasoning with God correctly, God willing, the mind will be submissive.
Now let's start over again. "Do not convey your desires to other than Allah, because they have no right to such things."
The wisdom of Ibn Athaillah invites us to strengthen our beliefs. Steady on destiny and God's decision, that behind it there is wisdom. Try to reason, suppose you have a friend who often gives you something special. Will you forget his kindness? Of course not. Good and valuable deeds are sometimes difficult to erase from the memory of the normal mind. Kindness is always remembered forever. However, the human name is sometimes quickly forgotten. Forget the services and forget the kindness of the people around him. Maybe even without realizing it.
If you are an academic, remember your elementary school teacher. If you are a religious person and have many followers, can you remember the teacher who taught you to read the Koran first? Do you remember the people around you who motivated your childhood?
Especially if your memory is tied to God's love, do you remember God's abundant gifts? Could you remember? How is it possible to forget all of God's gifts, even though every breath you take is the greatest gift from Him.
It's amazing how busy you are with wealth, when you forget that God gave it to him. It's amazing when you are busy taking care of your beauty and physical fitness, even though Allah is the one who designed the beauty of your body!
These kinds of things sometimes make you forget the greatness of God's grace during life. God's gift is certainly more valuable. The world and everything in it is a very great masterpiece of God. We are the only residents. We must submit to Allah's provisions.
If you can make an analogy, the world is like a boat/car while you are the engine. Then thanks to you the car can run normally. Thanks to you, the car can accelerate so that it can go so fast. Your function in the world is enormous. But remember that you are just a machine. You can not walk if it is not turned on and driven by someone who is good at driving.
Then who is the driver? The answer is, God. So know that Allah is driving everything in this world. Not others. The only one who has power over everything is Allah. Nothing can match the power of God. Remember that, yes, so that your faith will be stronger.
Instill deeply in your heart that only Allah, the Lord, must be worshiped. There is no god but Him. Allah is great above all things.
Then how to deal with this tortuous life? Shall we just sit idly by? Of course not. You as an inhabitant of this world certainly cannot avoid various kinds of problems and problems that color your life. You may not be able to avoid the problems that hit. Then the next rule is to live life to the fullest.
Live this life with a heart full of steadfastness. Face every problem bravely and fearlessly. Strong souls do not back away from problems. Of course, we must remain focused on one of the greatest points: God. God willing, your mentality will be much more mature and wiser. When all humans are busy with their own interests, be polite to others. Kind to the young and respectful to the old.
The Prophet said: "Whoever is not grateful to humans, then he is not grateful to Allah" (HR Imam at-Turmudzi).
We just take the wisdom of this life, because everything that happens around us must be in accordance with God's will. Everything must have a point. All good and bad is by the will of Allah. All you can do is work. Trying to be a good person and always good until the closing age later.
Peace be upon you, and Allah mercy and blessings
