42nd WISDOM OF WISDOM
Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim
Assalamualaikum wr. wb
حُسْنُ الْأَعْمَالِ نَتَائِجُ حُسْنِ الْأَحْوَالِ وَ حُسْنُ الْأَحْوَالِ مِنَ التَّحَقُّقِ فِيْ مَقَامَاتِ الْإِنْزَالِ.
“ 'Good deeds are the fruit of good conditions. While a good spiritual condition comes from the ability to accept various positions or levels that He has given. ”
Shaykh Ibn 'Atha'illah said:
حُسْنُ الْأَعْمَالِ نَتَائِجُ حُسْنِ الْأَحْوَالِ.
“ 'Good deeds are the fruit of good conditions. ”
The condition of the heart becomes good, because it has the nature of zāhid or does not like the world, is sincere in all 'deeds of worship, tawādhu' and other commendable qualities. This is the cause of the beauty of the whole 'charity zhāhir that is clean from riyā'.
وَ حُسْنُ الْأَحْوَالِ مِنَ التَّحَقُّقِ فِيْ مَقَامَاتِ الْإِنْزَالِ.
While a good spiritual condition comes from the ability to accept various positions or levels that He has given. ”
The good condition of the heart is part of the sign of the light of uluhiyyah, which descends on the heart of an 'ārif , which is called the light of ma'rifat . When the light is already residing in the heart, he (heart) will not want to confess or show off 'charity, not turning away from the love of Allah to the love of heaven. If this is the case, then all the 'charity' that has been done has been categorized as sincere. Because the achievement of sincerity is due to leaving the love of the world, because sincerity is obligatory, then leaving the love of the world is also obligatory, because the source of the emergence of all kinds of immorality is love of the world.
"Don't move from one situation to the same state, surely your journey will not change the rotation of a rice mill donkey, the finish line taken is none other than the first line he started, move from nature to the Creator!"
"And that with your Lord is the end (of all things)" (Surah An Najm: 42)
Notice the Hadith, "Whoever emigrates to Allah and the Messenger, then he emigrates to both. Whoever emigrates for worldly (reasons) or for the sake of a woman who wants to be married, then he emigrates to what he intended." Understand this Hadith and its relation to wisdom this time.
Everything other than Allah is called Alam (kaun), Allah as the creator is called mukawwin, nature is the intermediary to Allah as the main goal. The must for those who are ma'rifat and believe firmly is to make life advertisements as a medium to reach the pleasure of Allah.
However, if a person's busyness rests solely on and from other media, then this is the real journey of the milled donkey . It is absolutely not true that the main purpose of this life is to enjoy all the beauty, splendor and enjoyment that is available.
Human reason and logic are reluctant to say that Allah has entrusted the pleasures of the world so that humans will soon find the delights in it. Why? Because human wants and needs existed after human existence, before that there had never been such interests. Therefore, it is very sad if the interests that come later actually defeat the main purpose as the origin of creation?
Human logic agrees that the establishment of life for humans is nothing more than facilities and intermediaries, not the wisdom from which it was created. Because the wisdom of human creation is actually the executor of duties as caliph on earth to prosper the earth and everything in it.
Of course, the implementation of this task must be carried out according to the manhaj and the rules according to the way that brings His pleasure. So this is also another symptom for the feeling of God's wisdom and justice. After that man is entitled to the reward of his deeds.
Because it has the main task as a caliph, the existence of rizqi in the form of a variety of foods serves as a facility for humans. Once again it's just a facility, so it's not appropriate for food and other things to be the main target that must be achieved. Thus the offering of human life in the framework of seeking pleasure is a sacred mission that should be undertaken.
If we can understand this, then we will know the limits of the importance of this wisdom, as well as the dangers of ignoring it. It is as if Ibn Athaillah said, "You know, all the pleasures of the world are only facilities to be used as an introduction for humans to face His kindness. So don't ever be fooled by this. Moreover, to the point of enslaving the passions and interests for a moment."
The chronic disease that most Muslims suffer from today is because they forget the valuable message that this wisdom wants to convey. We can give an example in the Final Semester Examination, for example, we must know the main purpose of carrying out UAS for students. UAS when viewed through a narrow gap, is only interpreted as an effort to teach the value of cognition. Yet there are other goals that are far more important.
If someone considers UAS as a ceremony to achieve the value of mere cognition, then the main target of education is impossible to achieve. Even though scholars have warned that we always purify our intentions in the context of teaching and learning. So that the pure value of education is achieved.
Errors of intention can propagate to other, more fatal mistakes, so that not a few people are born smart but do not behave properly. This is the latent danger caused by someone forgetting the roots and only concerned with other things that are not important.
The command to move from attention to nature to attention to its creator should not be misunderstood. Do not understand that Ibn Athaillah is forbidding us from free interaction with the world around us.
Many times, Ibn Athaillah made him realize that it is impossible for us to run away from the world order, what needs to be avoided are things that make us negligent. Moreover, we know that the core purpose of this life is to carry out the task well as caliph on earth to prosper the world. It is even worse if a person actually moves from attention to God to attention to the world in which he spends time.
How did this happen? That is when in one's deeds of worship there is an intention to achieve worldly desires. This is a step backwards that is far worse than the first. Is there a surefire way to survive this bad situation?
The trick is to return to the wisdom that commands a person to run away from the sure thing to pursue something that is uncertain. That someone, however, has an age limit as the final story of the act of worship. After that there will be a charity count. Then this awareness will form positive thinking to always think 'god-oriented' not only about increasing profits.
