The 43rd Syarah of Wisdom – Syarah al-Hikam
43rd WISDOM OF WISDOM
Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim
Assalamualaikum wr. wb
" Don't leave dhikr because you can't concentrate on Allah while doing dhikr. Because your negligence (against Allah) when you do not dhikr is worse than your negligence when you do dhikr. Hopefully Allah is pleased to lift you from dhikr full of negligence to dhikr full of awareness. And from mindful dhikr to dhikr that is encouraged by His presence. And from dhikr which is encouraged by His presence to dhikr which negates other than Him. ”
The heart cannot leave the love of the world except by multiplying and practicing dhikr. Therefore, Shaykh Ibn 'Atha'illāh said:
لَا تَتْرُكِ الذِّكْرَ لِعَدَمِ حُضُوْرِكَ مَعَ اللهِ فِيْهِ
" Don't leave dhikr because you can't concentrate on Allah while doing dhikr. ”
Do not leave dhikr because you cannot udhūr or your heart is concentrated with Allah in dhikr.
Because dhikr is the closest way to Allah.
" Because your negligence (against Allah) when you do not dhikr is worse than your negligence when you do dhikr. ”
For verily, turning away from your heart from the remembrance of Allah and not making remembrance of your tongue is worse than turning your heart away from Allah when your tongue is remembrance. Because even though your heart forgets to remember Allah, you still remember Him in your oral dhikr. So keep on remembering Allah even though your heart is negligent.
" Hopefully Allah is pleased to lift you from dhikr full of negligence to dhikr full of awareness. ”
Hopefully Allah will raise you from dhikr accompanied by ghaflah (neglect of remembering Him), to dhikr accompanied by awareness or remembrance of Allah.
And from mindful dhikr to dhikr that is encouraged by His presence. ”
And from dhikr accompanied by the awareness of remembering Him, it rises to dhikr accompanied by udhūr , that is, your heart feels that you are in His shade, so that you become murāqabah to Him.
And from dhikr which is accompanied by udhūr to dhikr which negates other than Him.
" And that is not difficult for Allah ." (Surat Fathir [35]: 17).
Such a thing is not difficult for God, no.
Because God has power over all things. So it is obligatory for every student to carry out all His commands, assuming that only Allah can provide assistance for the success of murāqabah and wushl to Him.
That is, you should not associate or even make friends with people whose behavior and ideals are not directed towards Allah SWT, and also their words do not give you instructions to always be in the way of Allah SWT.
Someone said; Allah has glorified me with the abundance of His guidance after a long time in misguidance, so that I can diligently carry out His commands, after long turning away from obedience to my obligations to Him. However, my human instinct always invites immorality, and even encourages me to repeat it. How delicious and what is the solution?
Questions like this, in many conditions the answer is one. Namely the following description of Ibn 'Athaillah.
The surrounding climate in which a person lives has an important role in determining whether God's guidance will come or eliminate it. Moreover, young people who are still not immune to environmental influences and their habits tend to be easily influenced by the surrounding environment.
If the surrounding community is the object of interaction in their daily lives, including pious people, they are diligent in worshiping and obeying Allah's commands. And belong to those whose hearts are full of feelings of slavery before Allah. Then that person will get better, diligently worship, and will always draw closer to the Creator by diligent worship. He was fed up, not wanting to repeat the works that caused His wrath.
However, if the people around them include people who are experts in immorality, they usually relax and they are always in deviation of the Shari'a. Then the environment will affect his personality, so that later he will utter a cry of regret for what he went through. And his heart will feel cramped, because it is always driven by a storm of uncontrollable desires in the urge of instincts and passions.
However, many people don't realize this, so they don't care about the environment and their children's association.
Know it! Indeed, Allah has attributes that are also transmitted to His servants. He has the nature of compassion (Rahmah), with that nature He faces his servants who really feel like they are His servants. So, the servant who is always diligent in worship, dhikr, istighfar, full of ta'dzim and quick to repent for all negligence, will receive His grace. Likewise, He will be angry with servants who deviate, are wicked and underestimate the provisions of His Shari'a.
Know it! The nature of love that Allah shows to one of the servants, do not think that only stuck in the bottom of his heart. However, it will also appear and appear to radiate on the birth parts that will shine on the limbs. Then the light will propagate to the people who are close to him, in the form of friends and relatives without being seen. Because the light is not a model of light that can be seen through buildings, land and buildings as is customary. However, it is more similar to the scent of jasmine flowers whose fragrance will move quickly on those who approach it, without being seen by the eye.
So if you make friends and get closer to this type of person, your heart will be spacious and always in the protection of God.
Likewise, people who have bad traits and characters will also appear in their birth members who will have an effect on those around them. These traits will quickly spread to friends, companions, relatives and people around them. And the person who chooses to be close to this second type of person, his heart will be hard and narrow and always be in the confines of his misleading lust.
Such is the influence of the environment and friendship, which will determine the quality of the growth of the expected generations in the future.
The above description is in perfect harmony with the following words of the Prophet:
“The parable of a good seatmate and an ugly seatmate is that of a perfume seller and a blacksmith. As for the perfume seller, then maybe he will give it to you or maybe you will buy from him, or at least you smell the fragrance around you. As for the blacksmith, if he doesn't burn your clothes then at least you can smell the stench around you . "
So we understand that the climate or the environment is very influential on the development of our lives and that of our children. Now it's up to us which one to choose, to determine the fate of our children and grandchildren. In an educational environment that prioritizes morals and etiquette that prioritizes guidance on spiritual intelligence, or intellectual intelligence? In a religious environment or just modern?
What is clear is that your choices for your children will determine their future. If they are placed in an environment where the people neglect Allah's commands and dare to carry out His prohibitions. Then it is certain that he will have a dark future and it is difficult to expect success in this world and the hereafter.
And if you choose a healthy, well-established and religious environment, if there you find friends who can guide him to the path of Allah. Have ideals and goals that are always related to Allah, step with full trust in Him. Then your children who gather with friends like that, will become a generation of hope for the nation and become the sun that shines around them. And of course, such a generation is eagerly awaited and coveted by all levels of society. Hopefully it can come true!
