Moeslemcreed - In 2015, data from the United Nations showed that more than 20 million women were missing worldwide—dead or missing through abortion or infanticide—many of whom were killed after birth by their own parents in what has been called gendercide or femicide. This number has not decreased over time; it continues to rise.

Where We Went Wrong

In Islam, abortion is considered a great sin. The reality is that abortion happens, and it happens far too often. In many cases, it is the mother who makes the decision to abort her child. This is usually because she is not ready to be a mother, or she cannot afford to raise a child. Sometimes, the father may pressure the mother into having an abortion. Other times, it is simply a matter of convenience for the parents. Whatever the reason, abortion is a tragedy that often results in heartbreak and regret for all involved.

The Qur’an is clear about how we should treat women. Men and women are equal in God’s eyes, both deserving of love, respect, support, comfort, and protection. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that a woman is like a rib: you can enjoy her in all ways except for intercourse. This means it is not appropriate to beat a woman or curse her; she deserves gentleness, love, and support just as much as any man does. And yet, every year in Muslim countries there are thousands of cases where unborn girls are aborted because they are not wanted by their parents or families. Where did we go wrong? How did Islam become such an advocate for abortion?

The Best Solution

While there is no single answer that will work for everyone, the best solution to the problem of abortion and female infanticide is to provide support for women who are struggling with these issues. This support can come in the form of financial assistance, counseling, or simply a listening ear. Additionally, it is important to educate people about the realities of these issues so that they can make informed decisions. Finally, we must remember that Allah is merciful and forgiving, and He will judge us according to our intentions.

Allah is al-Mannan, The Giver. He grants wisdom to those who ask for it, and He is more forgiving than any of us can imagine. As difficult as it may be to confront these issues, we must face them honestly if we are to find true solutions. Insha’Allah (God willing), through our efforts many lives will be saved in future generations.

What to Do Now?

Muslims believe that life is sacred and that abortion and female infanticide are both huge sins. The reality is that these practices are still happening all over the world, even in Muslim countries. It's heart-wrenching to think about the innocent lives that are lost every day because of these practices. We need to do something to stop this. We need to educate people about the seriousness of these issues and we need to put an end to this tragic reality.

In 2014, UNICEF published a report that estimated that between 100 to 200 million women were missing in India. The most common reasons behind female infanticide are dowry payments and son preference. In some countries, it is still customary for parents to pay a dowry when they get married. If they have a daughter instead of a son, they could face significant financial problems because dowries can be extremely expensive. Parents may also believe that they'll have fewer expenses if they only have boys.

One last thing...

As a Muslim woman, I can't help but think about the sin of abortion and female infanticide from an Islamic perspective. It's something that breaks my heart because it's so preventable. There are many reasons why a woman might choose to abort her child or kill her infant daughter, but none of them are justifiable in Islam. The Quran is very clear on the sanctity of human life, and taking a life is one of the gravest sins a person can commit. I can only imagine the pain and suffering that Allah must feel when He sees His children killing each other. I pray that He will guide us all to the straight path and help us put an end to this tragedy.

Every human life is sacred in Islam - Second Paragraph: The Prophet MuPBUHad (pbuhno one kills their childachild out of desire for wealth or honor but they will not be able to find a ransom or price with Allah on the Day of Resurrection.

As Muslims, we believe that Allah has chosen to create us in our mother's wombs—no matter what color we are, where we're born, or who our parents are. Each child has a right to be born into a loving family who will care for them with compassion and patience. We must do everything in our power to stop such tragedies before they start.
