Wisdom - 7 Meanings of God's Promise
Al Hikam Wisdom - 7
It means
Do not be in doubt about Allah's promise because what was promised does not come true, even though the time has been determined, so that doubt does not damage the Eyes of your Heart and does not extinguish the light of your Inner Secrets.
Explanation :
God has promised to answer every prayer. A servant who has earnestly prayed, but has not yet been granted by God, sometimes has a doubt about God's promise.
A believer is tested by God by whether or not his prayers are answered.
Others have been tested by whether God's promises have been fulfilled or not.
So our attitude is to believe that our will and all our actions are a gift from Allah swt. So, it is not appropriate if we demand Allah with our prayers and deeds. It is true that Allah will answer every prayer and reward every practice. But no creature is worthy of claiming that promise. God's promise returns to Himself.
Don't try to claim the promise of Allah, because if we are demanded with the mandate that has been given to us, our deeds will be like a grain of dust, it means nothing in front of Allah swt.
God's Word in Surat Al-Hujrat: 17 which means;
They consider that their Islam is a blessing that they gave you Muhammad, so you should thank them. Say to them: Do not feel that you have favored me with your Islam. The good is for yourself. In fact, it is Allah Who has bestowed favors upon you by guiding you to faith, if you are truthful in confession.
This is where we can understand the truth and secret of God's promise. So for the person who does not receive God's guidance, he will doubt, but for the person who receives God's guidance, he will be confident because God's promise returns to God and not according to his own taste.
