History of the Miracle of Ashabul Kahfi

If you are currently visiting Jordan, you will see the cave where Ashabul Kahf is. It is eight kilometers from Amman, the capital of Jordan. In ancient times, Amman was called Philadelphia. A very beautiful city decorated with statues. Not only as decorations, but also as their gods (God).

The location of the cave where Ashabul Kahf slept for hundreds of years, between the village of Al-Raqim and the village of Abu 'Alanda. People will see seven tombstones and will see a small tombstone which is believed to be the grave of Kotmirun, Ashabul Kahf's dog. The cave was discovered by an archaeologist named Wafa Al-Dajjani around 1964. Through this finding, he has debunked the claims of European historians who said that the Ashabul Kahf cave was in Afsus, Turkey.

Trojan King

In 106 AD, the Roman army led by the Trojan Emperor succeeded in occupying Jordan. Prior to this military expedition, Syria, Palestine and Jordan had been granted autonomy. The Roman central government only levied taxes from these countries because of the minority of Roman troops. It was only in 112 AD that the Trojan Emperor succeeded in completely occupying these lands.

The Trojan emperor was a devout pagan. He does not hesitate to pursue believers like the followers of Jesus. When he succeeded in occupying the three countries, he issued an order that he did not hesitate to execute the followers of Jesus and those who dared to reject their idol God and those who disobeyed the state.

In those days the believers lived in fear. They also sometimes have to worship idols even if they pretend. The government at that time would also examine the religion of their people. That is what causes anxiety and fear for the believers.

Seven youths who slept long

In the city of Philadelphia, there are seven young believers who are confused about what to do. They had only two choices, disbelief or death. At the crucial moment, they decided to leave the city. When they were about to leave with one of their dogs, the religious examiner stopped them. However, they managed to escape because they said they were going to go hunting.

History says, the seven youths were named Maxminyanius, Amlikhius, Motyanius, Danius, Yanius, Aksa Kadtho Niyanius and Antonius and their guard dog Kotmirun. They went to a cave seven kilometers from the city. The location of the place is near a village called Al-Raqim.

They were tired and felt sleepy when they entered the cave. They were also worried that the Romans would find them in their hiding cave. However, in the end they fell asleep too because they were tired all day without sleeping.

While their guard dog, was ordered to guard in front of the cave door. They sleep with their eyes open and even their dog does not move in front of the door. If anyone saw them sleeping like that, it would be a terrifying sight.
