Islamic Story: When the Body Awakens and Tells Something

Islamic Story: When the Body Awakens and Tells Something

Zaid, let's say that, went to Khalaf bin Tamim. Zaid is an employee of Khalaf, a fairly wealthy businessman in the Mada'in Kisra area. Fulan told Khalaf that in an inn there was a person who died but there was absolutely no shroud that could wrap him (because he was poor, pen .). Call it Fulan.

Intrigued by the news, Khalaf immediately checked Fulan's body. Sure enough, he saw that Fulan's body, which was covered in cloth, lay lying down. The body is being awaited by several people who are none other than Fulan's friends. Surprisingly, above the stomach of the corpse there is a brick.

To Khalaf, several people who were there told who and how Fulan was when he was alive. They tell many things, ranging from the problem of worship that is carried out to the virtues / advantages possessed by the Fulan.

The existence of a corpse that was not immediately taken care of made Khalaf take the initiative to immediately take care of it. He immediately ordered one person to buy some of the necessities of the body as it should be (the shroud and some other items).

Not to forget, he also ordered one person to look for the gravediggers. While Khalaf himself warmed the water for the purpose of bathing the corpse.

Not too long ago, suddenly Fulan's corpse woke up from sleep. Suddenly, the brick that was above his stomach fell.

"Perish! Woe! Hell!" shouted Fulan.

This incident clearly made the people there scatter and run helter-skelter because they were afraid. Khalaf then approached the Fulan and held his upper arm. Shaking the arm, Khalaf asked, "Who are you and what happened to you?"

The so-and-so replied, “In the past, during my life, I was part of a religious sect in Kufa. One of his teachings was to blaspheme two of the Prophet's companions, Abu Bakr and Umar bin Khatab. In addition, it is also taught to disengage from the two of them.”

Out of pity for this condition, Khalaf advised him to immediately repent to Allah. Asking Him for forgiveness and not repeating what he has done.

"Free. It's no use anymore," said Fulan. He continued, he was now about to be put into hell.

In that realm, Fulan was told, “You will be returned to the world and tell your friends about what you saw here. After that, you will die again.”

Just after saying those few sentences, Fulan returned to her original state (dead).

Khalaf was waiting for the shroud he had bought. After arriving, he also said to the people who were there that he did not want to take care of (bath, shroud, pray, and bury) the Fulan's body. Khalaf came home.

The body was then taken care of by the friends of the corpse. They turned out to be part of this strange community. After everything was done, Fulan's friends asked Khalaf why he didn't want to take care of Fulan's body.

"Satan has spoken with the mouth of the so-and-so," replied Khalaf firmly. (The point is that what Solan said about blaspheming two of the Prophet's companions was really like the words of the devil, pen. )

In addition to the prohibition of blaspheming the Prophet's companions, one important message that can be taken from the story above is how we take part in legal matters that are fardu kifayah.

FYI, fardu kifayah is a legal status in Islam where someone has to do it. If there is absolutely none, then all people are considered sinners. In the story above, fardu kifayah is meant to take care of the corpse.

There are many things in this life that are ruled by fardu kifayah, for example being a doctor, law enforcer, politician, memorizing the Qur'an and so on. Not everyone is obliged to have expertise in these areas. However, if no one at all could, then everyone would be considered a sinner.

As a result, as a Muslim, we should be able to look at the surrounding conditions, where opportunities are not yet filled. There, we should fill it (if we can). Wouldn't the presence (for example) of a doctor in one village be able to help the community? It is inconceivable what would have happened if there were no doctors at all in the village.
