Khadijah, the pious woman

The Arabs are known as an illiterate nation, not good at reading and writing. However, among the Qurays at that time there was a woman named Khadijah, she was good at reading, she could read the Torah and the Bible and she was also diligent in studying and tracing the meanings in the two books. So that when he was an adult between 27 and 28 years his heart became infatuated with the Torah, the Bible and the attributes of the Prophet of the last days.

Khadijah had a teacher named Waraqah bin Naufal. Waraqah is a scholar who awaits the arrival of the Prophet of the end of time. In history it is explained that the entire population of Mecca is an illiterate population but there is no intelligent, clever and clever person in ancient books such as Waraqah bin Naufal who has a student named Khadijah.

When Khadijah was 28 years old, Waraqah bin Naufal had told her that it was as if the Prophet of the End Times had been born. Then Khadija said:

والله يا إبن عمّي ما أتزوّج أبدا حتّي تزوّجني نبيّ هذه الأمّة

Meaning: "By Allah, I will not marry forever so that the one who marries me is the Prophet of the end of time".

When she was 30 years old Khadijah traded. He began to know that the characteristics of the Prophet of the last days were found in Muhammad who came from the Bani Hashim and Bani Muttalib families. However, Khadijah felt that something was still not right with these characteristics because according to her there was no continuity between Muhammad and the previous prophets.

As far as Khadijah knows, in the Torah and the Bible, a prophet after Abraham to Prophet Isa must have passed through the Turisina area, according to Khadijah, what is called a continuity. However, Muhammad, whom he had been waiting for as a prophet of the end times, had never crossed Turisina. Finally, Khadijah waited for this moment until at the age of 35 many men proposed to her but she refused.

Unexpectedly, when Muhammad was 25 years old he wanted to trade to the city of Sham. he approached Khadija to make a trade deal. At that time Khadijah was 40 years old, then inside herself Khadijah said that Muhammad was really a prophet, because someone who went from Mecca to Sham would definitely go through the Turisina area.

Khadijah entered into an agreement with Muhammad, whether this contract was a trade, whether it was a money-lending contract or a trading syirkah contract. Then Khadijah straightened that the contract should be agreed upon as a trading contract only, this she did so that she could oversee Muhammad's journey. But Khadijah realized that she could not follow Muhammad's trade rihlah to the city of Sham because she was a woman. He also sent a trusted man named Maisarah to accompany Muhammad and he also ordered Maisarah to record all of her travels with Muhammad.

Maisarah recorded everything, from the presence of clouds that always followed Muhammad and protected him from the hot sun to the biggest thing that happened when he and Muhammad were in the city of Busra, precisely at the Batu Church. The church is inhabited by a priest named Nestur.

At that time Pastor Nestur saw two men who stopped in front of his church. He looked at it and he realized that one of them was the forerunner of a prophet of the end times after he saw the red marks in Muhammad's eyes. Pastor Nestur also reminded Maisarah to be careful because the person who traded with her was a forerunner of the Prophet of the end times because there were red marks in her eyes.

After returning from Sham Maisarah told Khadijah what had happened. However, even without a report from Maisarah, Khadijah actually believed that Muhammad was a prophet because he had passed through the Turisina area.

After that Khadijah proposed to Muhammad, which at that time was a rare sight in the Arabian plains, a woman proposing to a man. The wedding took place with a dowry of 100 camels. Allah swt said,

والّذي أوحينا إليك من الكتاب هو الحقّ مصدّقا لما بين يديه

Meaning: And what We have revealed to you, namely the Book (Al-Quran) is the truth, confirming the previous books.

Things revealed by Allah SWT. to the Prophet Muhammad it is a matter of truth that can be proven according to the news in the previous books, and Khadijah is a woman who knows all of this, a proof that Khadijah is a very pious woman.

Therefore, Khadijah is the center and principal in the faith. Anyone who believes can not be separated from the people who are under the grip of Khadijah. Abu Bakr believed because he was the closest person and secretary of Khadijah. Prophet Muhammad once said, "O Abu Bakr, I am you, you are me". The Prophet said that because he and Abu Bakr were both close to Khadija. Ali bin Abi Talib and Zaid believed because they were both adopted sons of Khadijah. In fact, when Bilal bin Rabbah was released by Abu Bakr, the money used did not escape Khadijah's money.
