Learn to Practice Patience Like the Prophet Ayyub

Prophet Ayub is the son of Prophet Yusuf. He lives happily with his wife and ten children. Work to cultivate rice fields, gardens and have sufficient wealth. Until one day Allah appointed him as the Prophet of Allah.

Even though his life was prosperous, Prophet Ayyub was not arrogant. He taught his children about charity. Providing food to the poor in need. It was his generosity and kindness that made him loved by the people of Hawran.

The faith and piety of the Prophet Ayyub made irritation and revenge for the devil. Prophet Ayyub wanted his people and invited them to the way of Allah. The devil, on the other hand, wants them to follow the path of evil. So little by little, Satan influenced the people and said that Ayyub's faith was limited to his wealth. If he falls into poverty, then he will stray from the way of Allah.

Allah wanted to show the people of Hawran the faith, kindness and patience of the Prophet Ayyub. So Allah tested him by taking the property owned by the Prophet Ayyub. The herders, farmers and gardeners were killed by evil people. There is no automatic cultivation of the fields.

Not only that, one afternoon black clouds covered the sky and a loud roar was heard. A slave of the Prophet Ayyub rushed to him. His clothes and body were burned and the slave said that his pasture was on fire. Nothing was left, everything was scorched.

Prophet Ayub understood that Allah was testing him. Therefore, he just surrendered and surrendered to God. Sure enough, even though the devil tried to seduce and plunge Prophet Ayyub on his path, still Prophet Ayyub was patient and still had faith in Allah.

Not only wealth, Allah also tested the Prophet Ayyub by losing a loved one. His seven sons and three daughters were called by God. Even he and his wife, who are already aged, are tested by the pain that afflicts them.

Satan came back and persuaded the citizens of Hawran. Satan said that the Prophet Ayyub had committed a major sin. Therefore, the word Satan, Allah cursed him and made it a source of disease and calamity. They (the residents) have to expel from their land. They were devoured by the devil's persuasion and cast out the Prophet Ayyub.

Prophet Ayub prayed to Allah and surrendered himself completely to Allah. The patience and determination of the Prophet Ayyub is not in doubt. When many made fun of him, he only answered with patience. Rahma, his wife, faithfully accompanied him even though he was very sad when he lost his son and daughter.

Allah sent an angel to convey good news to the Prophet Ayyub. At that time, his wife was looking for bread to eat. The place where the Prophet Ayyub stood, suddenly radiated a beautiful light. The angel conveyed greetings from Allah and said, “ I have accepted your prayers . I will reward you for your righteousness. Ayyub, stomp your feet on the ground. Wash your bodies in holy springs .”

When the angel left, the light of beauty disappeared from that place. Prophet Ayub immediately carried out what Allah had commanded through His angels. He stamped his foot and gushing holy water from under his feet. He drank the water and immediately took off his clothes and took a shower. All diseases attached to his body disappeared. He also returned like a shining young man.

Rahma immediately came home from looking for bread, she was surprised not to see her husband. He only saw a beaming figure. Yes, in fact he was the Prophet Ayub. Although doubtful, Rahma finally believed and immediately did what her husband did. Changes also occurred in Rahma.

The holy water also flows to the ground and flows through the graves of the children of the Prophet Ayyub. Children who have died, come back to life by Allah's permission. Everything returns in times like the prosperity of the Prophet Ayyub. The fruit of patience and faith in what the Prophet Ayyub did. This is the undeniable power of God.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. And (remember the story of) Ayyub, when he called out to his Lord, "(My Lord), I have been afflicted with disease and You are the Most Merciful of all the merciful." So We accepted his call, then We removed the disease from him and We returned his family to him and those like them with them, as a mercy from Us and as a warning to all who worship Allah. (Surat al-Anbiya: 83-84).
