Selected Words of Wisdom (3)

Whoever plays a snake in the palm of his hand

It was impossible for him to survive his bite

Verily the branch will be straight if you straighten it

But that's not the case if what you straighten is a tree trunk

Syarah / Explanation and Conclusion:

****************************************

The first stanza is a parable for people who make friends with bad people, gradually he will be affected by bad influences too.

The second stanza is a parable for parents or teachers who want to educate a child. Children are likened to a young tree branch that is still easy to shape as desired. But when the child has become an adult, he will be like a hardened tree trunk that can no longer be shaped as desired. So the best time to educate someone is when he is still young.
