Mahfudzot Class 2 KMI Gontor and its Meaning and Explanation (Part 24)

الحِكَمُ وَالْأَمْثَالُ السَّائِرَةُ (٢)

Words of Wisdom and Proverbs (2)

1- الفَضْلُ لِلْمُبْتَدِيْ وَ إِنْ أَحْسَنَ المُقْتَدِيْ.

1. The virtue belongs to the beginner even though the person who follows it is better than him.

2- لَا تَطْلُبْ مِنَ الْجَزَاءِ إِلَّا بِقَدْرِ مَا صَنَعْتَ.

2. Do not ask for anything in return except for what you have done.

3- لَا تَتَكَلَّمْ بِمَا لَا يَعْنِيْكَ وَدَعِ الْكَلَامَ فِيْ كَثِيْرٍ مِمَّا يَعْنِيْكَ حَتَّى تَجِدَ لَهُ مَوْضِعًا.

3. Do not talk about what does not benefit you. And leave the talk that is beneficial to you until you find the right time and place to talk about it.

Syarah / Explanation and Conclusion:

Beginners such as inventors, company founders, pioneers, etc.. will always be remembered and glorified even though it was the generations after them who succeeded in perfecting their findings. Call it Ibn Sina (Avicenna) who is dubbed the "father of modern medicine", the author of the book ' The Canon of Medicine' is still mentioned today even though there have been great doctors in the next generation. There is another Ibn Khaldun who is known as the founder of the science of Historiography, Sociology and Economics. With his monumental work ' Muqaddimah' , his name continues to be remembered to this day even though there have been people who have mastered these fields in the next generation.

A person is like only getting what he deserves. Because it is inappropriate for us to expect results or rewards beyond what we have worked for. If today we just work leisurely, then it's really not worth it for us to hope to get results that exceed our efforts.

Talking about useless things can certainly put us in danger. But not only that, talking about useful things can also put us in danger, if we can't choose the right time and place. Because everything has a time and place.

Imagine if we are a military agent who has crucial information that should not be known by just anyone, if we speak without regard to time and place, then it can endanger ourselves and our country. That's why a Turkish Ulama Said Nursi once said: “ Everything you say must be true; But it is not right if you say everything that is true .” This means that we must be able to adapt our conversation to the situation, place and condition we are in.
