Mahfudzot Class 2 KMI Gontor and its Meaning and Explanation (Part 16)

Selected Words of Wisdom (2)

That young man could die from slipping his tongue

But he didn't die because he slipped on his leg

If a fool speaks then don't answer

Because the best answer for him is silence

Syarah / Explanation and Conclusion:

The mouth that cannot be kept is often the cause of the destruction of one's life, both in this world and in the hereafter. Regarding the importance of guarding the mouth (tongue), Prophet Muhammad SAW said:

A true Muslim is one who other Muslims are safe from (bad) tongue and hands... (Narrated by Bukhari)

One of the characteristics of people who are weak in their minds is that they talk a lot about things that don't need to be discussed and ask a lot of things that don't need to be asked, so answering every comment or "unnecessary question" they ask is a form of wasting time, rather than that, it is enough for us to remain silent in responding to their unnecessary comments and questions.
