Prophet Daud AS

Prophet Daud AS, is the 12th descendant of Prophet Ibrahim. He became king after the death of king Thalut, at that time there was also a pagan king named Jalut. In the Qur'an it is stated:

" Don't you know a group from the Children of Israel after (the death of) Moses, when they said to one of their Prophets: Raise a king for us, so that we can fight in the way of God. He replied: Is it not possible, if you are obliged to fight, that you will not fight? They replied: Why do we not want to fight in the way of God, when we have been driven out of our village and (from) our children? But when it was made obligatory upon them to fight, they turned away, except for a few of them; and God is well aware of the wrongdoers ". ( QS. al-Baqarah, verse 246).

The Israelites refused to accept the statement of the Prophet, saying:

"How will Thalut be our king, he is inferior to us, while we have abundant wealth".

Then Thalut remained king, and after becoming king, Thalut went out with his army to fight the disobedient (Jalut). At that time Thalut said:

"We pass this river, but God will test your faith, by forbidding to drink this water. Those who drink their water are not among the believers"

Then what happened? they drank the water of the river, because they were very thirsty. While those who believe remain obedient do not drink the water, except for a sip as a thirst quencher.

When Thalut crossed the river and was close to battle, those who had little faith retreated from the battlefield, and those who had strong faith in God were not afraid in the slightest against a strong enemy, even if they were few. The word of God in the Qur'an:

" Many small groups can defeat many groups, with the permission of God and God and those who are patient." ( QS al-Baqarah, verse 249).

In this battle, Jalut was killed by one of the soldiers named Daud, then Jalut's army surrendered, and Daud was appointed king.

Miracles of Prophet Daud AS

Prophet Daud AS, famous for his melodious voice that no one can match, this is the gift and mercy of God that was poured out on him, and became a miracle of his prophethood. Because of his good voice, if he recites the book of Psalms with a melodious song, if heard by sick people they will be healed, also the water and the wind will be calm, the birds and the hills will also praise God.

Similarly, iron can become soft and he can make various things that he wants with God's permission. The words of Allah SWT in the Qur'an:

"Indeed, We have given it to David, then We said: " O mountains, recite the tasbih repeatedly with David, so do the birds, and We made the iron soft before it, Make and weave armor, then do righteous deeds, indeed I see everything you do" ( QS Saba, verse 10-11).

While the holy book that God bestowed upon him, is the book of Psalms, as His words, in the holy book of the Qur'an:

" And verily Allah has exalted some of the Prophets over others, and We gave the Book of Zabur to David" (Surah al-Isra ', verse 55).

He died at the age of 100 years and 6 months, and was buried in Baitil Maqdis.
