Prophet Saleh AS

Prophet Saleh AS, is the son of 'Ubaid bin Jabir bin Thamud. His tribe is called Tamud, a name derived from his grandfather's name Tsamud bin Amir bin Iram bin Sam bin Nuh.

So Prophet Saleh is the sixth descendant of Prophet Noah. The Tsamud people occupy the area that was originally occupied by the 'Ad people. The country was left empty by the 'Ad nation due to destruction, but over time there was a nation in that country that occupied and inhabited it. This new nation is called the Thamud nation. They are the ones who control the area that was originally controlled by the 'Ad people.

The Thamud people are full of possessions, happy and happy and do not lack anything. but they forgot God at all, did not know God at all. That's why they gradually become more evil, far from everything good, and even become arrogant as arrogant.

Prophet Saleh called and invited his people as described in the Qur'an, as follows:

"We sent to Thamud, a brother named Saleh, saying: "O my people! Worship Allah, you have no god but Him. He is the one who created you from the earth, and prospered it, therefore ask for your forgiveness, and repent to Him. Indeed, God is generous, and grants people's requests." (QS. Hud, verse 6).

Nabi Saleh's invitation and call to his people was ignored by them, they even mocked saying: That Saleh was just an ordinary human being. Even though they have asked for proof of his apostleship, that is for Prophet Saleh to plead with God to bring out a she-camel from inside a big rock.

Because they were very disobedient to God, then the call of the Prophet Saleh was ignored at all, they disturbed the camels which became proof of the Prophethood of the Prophet Saleh.

Prophet Saleh's proof is that a camel cannot be disturbed by its drinking water which is specific for the camel, and its milk can be drunk.

Because they did not believe, they disturbed the camel earlier, ie they slaughtered it. After that they came to Prophet Saleh saying: "If you are truly the messenger of God, prove the torment you promised before, we have slaughtered the camel."

Anbi Saleh replied: "You may witness for yourself in these three days, because the punishment of God is near!"

Regarding Prophet Saleh's answer, it has clearly been proven as the words of Allah SWT, as follows:

" Then they were struck by lightning, so they died in that land" (QS. al-A'raf, verse 78)

Before the torment came, Prophet Saleh and the believers had gone first by leaving his message, as stated in the Qur'an, as follows:

"Shaleh turned away from them and said: "O my people! Indeed, I have conveyed the message of God to you and I have given you advice, but you do not like those who give advice." (QS. al-A'raf, verse 79).

With this punishment, the country was destroyed by God, while Nabi Saleh and his followers moved to another country, namely in Hadramaut, while according to other narrations he moved to the country of Makkah. As for those who escaped God's punishment at that time, there were 120 people, and they in the new land began to organize a new life.
