The Salafiyah Syafiiyah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo Situbondo was founded by KHRSyamsul Arifin, known as KHR Ibrahim bin Kyai Ruham.
After receiving instructions from several ulama in Madura in 1908, KHR Syamsul Arifin crossed to Java to spread religious knowledge. KHR Syamsul Arifin with his eldest son As'ad, who was 11 years old at that time, penetrated and opened a quiet place in the middle of a thicket, about 7 kilometers from
the city of Asembagus Situbondo. Some time later, a hut (dangau) was erected for the temporary residence of KHR Syamsul Arifin and a number of Kembang Kuning students who accompanied his wanderings.
In 1914, Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Situbondo began to have the infrastructure to support the establishment of a pesantren. At first the students who studied only came from residents of the nearest village. Gradually, students began to arrive from around Situbondo and Madura.
In 1951 KHR Syamsul Arifin died at the age of 110 years. So the leadership of the boarding school was directly passed on by his son KHR As'ad Syamsul Arifin.
In the leadership of KHR As'ad Syamsul Arifin, the pesantren continues to experience rapid development, this is evidenced by the establishment of educational institutions including SMP, SMK, SMA. In fact, because he was concerned about the issue of the crisis of ulama (especially fuqoha), in 1990 a special institution for cadre of fuqoha was established called "Al Ma'hadul Aly Li'ulumiddiniyah Syu'batul Fiqh" better known as Ma'had Aly (MAIF). .
In 1990 KHR As'ad Syamsul Arifin died at the age of 98 years, then his sons and daughters Raden Achmad Fawaid who won the trust as the holder of the leadership of the third generation. Then continued by KHR Achmad Fawaid As'ad and is now being cared for by KHR Azaim Ibrahimy
2. Profile of Islamic Boarding School
Salafiyah Syafi'iah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo Situbondo is an educational institution located at Po Box 2 Situbondo, East Java 68374. This Islamic boarding school was founded in 1908 by KHR Syamsul Arifin. Since 2012 the Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Islamic Boarding School Sukorejo Situbondo has been managed by KHR Azaim Ibrahimy.
This Islamic boarding school in addition to teaching religious education also teaches formal education from kindergarten to university level. Formal education organized by Islamic boarding schools include:

2.3. Understanding Information Technology Strategic Planning 1. Information systems
According to the UK Academy of Information Systems (UKAIS), an information system (IS) is defined as a device (means) using technology to collect, process, store, disseminate and present the information an organization needs. IS studies include theory and practice related to social and technological phenomena that interact with each other in continuous change and development of information systems (Ward & Peppard, 2002).
According to Mc Leod (2007) information system is a system that has the ability to collect information from all sources and use various media to display information.
According to Kenneth C. Laundon (2008) information systems are one of the main tools available to managers to achieve operational success, develop new products and services, improve decision-making processes and gain competitive advantage.
According to Turban and Volonino (2011) an information system is a collection of processes, storage, analysis and distribution of information
which has a specific purpose. The general function of the information system is shown in the following table.

This information system results in reciprocal monitoring of the mechanisms and controlled operations of an organization.
From the understanding of information systems above, it can be concluded that the use of information systems requires supporting technology called information technology. Information technology (IT) includes a network element to obtain information systems that can communicate, human resources in the field of information technology to operate information systems, and an institution that supports and controls the use of large amounts of information systems.
2. Information Technology
Information technology comes from the words technology and information. Technology is the development and application of various equipment or systems to solve the problems faced by humans in everyday life. The word information is information can be interpreted news that contains a specific purpose. Information technology is a system procedure used by humans to convey messages or information (Maryono, Istiana, 2007).
Information Technology refers specifically to the use of technology. The most common thing is the use of tangible and intangible network hardware, software and telecommunications as facilities for acquisition, processing, storing, delivery, and sharing of
information. In other words, information technology provides facilities
for the continuous running of all processes and functions of information systems (Ward & Peppard 2003).
Information Technology relationships with organizations can influence each other (Laundon, 2004). Information Technology must be adapted to the organization in order to provide the information needed in certain important parts of the organization. While on the other hand the organization must be alert and open to IT in order to influence the benefits and opportunities in the use of IT.
There are three main objectives of an organization's IT implementation efforts. First, improve work efficiency by automating various processes that manage information. Second, improve management effectiveness by satisfying information needs for decision making. Third, improve competitiveness/increase the organization's competitive advantage by changing the style and way of doing business (Ward & Peppard 2002).
3. Organization and Information Technology
Information technology (IT) must be adapted to the organization in order to provide the information needed in certain important parts of the organization. While on the other hand the organization must be alert and open to the influence of information technology (IT) in order to obtain benefits and opportunities in the use of information technology (IT).
There are three main targets of efforts to implement information technology (IT) in an organization. First, improve work efficiency by automating various processes that manage
information. Second, increasing the effectiveness of management by satisfying the information needs for decision making. Third, improve competitiveness/increase the organization's competitive advantage by changing the style and way of doing business (Ward & Peppard 2002).
4. Strategic planning
According to Allen and Neal in their book Strategic Planning for Exploration Management (1984), Before entering the explanation of strategic planning, an understanding of planning is needed. Generally, planning has the concept of an iterative process that is divided according to what is desired and how to make it happen. Planning requires continuous effort in adapting the organization to its changing environment.
Strategic planning is a set of concepts, procedures, and tools designed to assist leaders and managers in carrying out their duties. Basically, strategic planning can be defined as a disciplined effort to produce the fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide an organization. In the last forty years, strategic planning has become a standard part of management planning and practice in the business world. Whereas in the last twenty years strategic planning has become standard practice for a large number of nonprofit community organizations (Bryson, John Moore, 2004).
The fundamental purpose of strategic planning in higher education is to provide an ongoing process of examining and evaluating an institution's strengths, weaknesses, objectives, resource requirements and future prospects, and to establish a coherent plan to respond to findings and build stronger, more effective institutions. (Fred M. Hayward., 2003).
From the above understanding, it can be concluded that strategic planning is a systematic plan needed to build an organization to achieve its goals, in accordance with its vision and mission.
Planning is not a financing or a forecast. In addition, planning does not use predictions from several possibilities (Allen, Neal. 1984). However, before planning, it is necessary to know the reasons for planning. The purpose of planning is to assist management. So that planning is done to build the organization in accordance with the conditions.
5. Information Technology Strategic Planning
According to Ward & Peppard 2003, information systems strategy is the process of identifying a portfolio of computer applications that will be implemented and aligned with the organization's strategy and able to create an organization's competitive advantage. The IS strategy determines the information and systems that can support the business strategy according to the needs of the organization.
Meanwhile, information technology strategy, according to Ward & Peppard (2003), refers to the provision and selection of technology, infrastructure, and services. The relationship between business strategy, IS strategy and IT strategy can be seen schematically in the following figure.

The goals of organizations adopting IS/IT strategic processes (Ward & Peppard 2003) are (1) Aligning IS/IT with business processes to identify where IS/IT's biggest contribution is and determine investment priorities. (2) Profit as a competitive advantage of business opportunities from the use of IS/IT. (3) Build
cost-effectively by determining flexible infrastructure
future changes and needs. (4) Developing the right resources and competencies in the development of IS/IT that are appropriate and successful for the organization.

Information systems strategic planning is the process of identifying a portfolio of computer-based applications to support the organization in executing its business plans and business objectives. Information technology strategic planning can assist organizations in determining priorities in planning and developing information systems efficiently, effectively and having strategic values that are in line with organizational strategies and can create competitive advantages. (Pujoko Rapiyadi, 2009)
From the definitions above, it can be concluded that strategic planning of systems and information technology is an analysis used to formulate company goals and objectives and determine strategies that utilize the advantages of information systems with the support of information technology in supporting business strategies and giving companies a long-term advantage in competing. with other companies
