The 53rd Syarah of Wisdom – Syarah al-Hikam
53rd WISDOM AL-HIKAM
"The (Divine) light is like a tool that will help the heart (to know Allah)"
This wisdom describes in full the definition of "Warid" from the previous Hikam 52 . Briefly, in the previous discussion "Warid" is referred to as Divine intuition, or knowledge that God gives directly to His servants.
The warids were immediately united, without having to study hard, without any intermediaries from anything and anyone. Warid is a pure gift and gift of Allah which is rare and very special only for His lovers (waliyullah). Let's go back to the initial discussion: that what helps you in wushul to Allah is divine light. It means this, the nature of the heart is actually conditioned to love and be happy with Allah. Not others.
The pure function of the created heart is for it to glorify Allah, fear and submit only to Him. But then, you, for example, as the owner of the heart often deviate. You are then more happy in worldly things.
Your inclination towards the pleasures of the world can be passionate at times, of course with lustful support. Until finally the desire of lust overcomes the nature of your heart. Straight gaze towards Allah, then deflected by the disease of lust.
In the Qur'an, Allah mentions various diseases of the world that will attack humans completely.
"Made beautiful in (the view of) humans the love of what they want, namely: women, children, lots of treasures of gold, silver, selected horses, livestock and fields. That is the pleasure of living in this world, and with Allah is a good place to return (heaven).” [Quran 3:14]
By the power of God, your survival continues in such a way, until God's appointed time. You think that life is very peaceful and safe, but in reality it is not. Although you live in abundance, but in fact you are captive to your own lust. Life as a prisoner, of course, is not as easy as living freely without intervention.
This indicates you do not know the nature of the heart. You do not understand the function of the creation of the heart, as explained earlier. So the solution is to understand your heart first, then act according to your heart, because your heart must be right.
The question is, could all the words of the heart be true? Are not the contents of the human heart is different; sometimes bad, sometimes good? The answer, this type of heart is not a random heart. This type of heart is clear, pure and not contaminated by anything.
Every human being must have this type of heart. No matter how bad/evil your outward behavior is, you must have a conscience. This conscience will later lead your way straight to the presence of Allah. So, don't underestimate your inner voice. If you still deny this truth, or you feel unprepared for this reality, what is the solution?
Well, this is where the significant role of "Warid" from God is very helpful. Like the explanation of the theme at the beginning of the opening earlier:
"The (Divine) light is like a tool that will help your heart (to get to know Allah more closely)"
Warid is divine light or divine intuition. Warid's main role is as a binder of the heart. So that your heart is only connected to Allah. Even though your heart is bad, but thanks to the help of warid from Allah, God willing, he will return to his original nature.
The nature of the heart was created for the love of Allah. The nature of the heart is only to fear and submit to Allah alone. Not others. In essence, the function of warid here is like a security system for your heart. It is Warid who will lead you to Allah.
Not only does it keep the heart connected to God, but it also frees the heart from harmful bad interventions. If now your body is acting badly or deviating, then the warid will straighten it out later.
If warid has fused with your conscience, then it is very possible that every word/voice that comes from your heart is always true. A heart that has been infused with a warid from Allah, surely it is a special heart. This type of heart is the heart that God has chosen.
This is the purpose of the heart's work can affect the attitude of the body. A pure heart that only hopes for the pleasure of Allah alone.
"The light of faith and the light of faith are vehicles that deliver the human heart and Asror (secret) to the presence of Allah."
The lecture
'Nur Ilahiyyah' that God gives to his servant is usually the result of dhikr and exercises. 'Nur' is the vehicle of the heart and 'Sir' conveys its purpose, which is entering and taqorrub the presence of Allah swt. This light is also called 'Light Warid'.
~~¥~~
"Nur (lights) of faith, belief and dhikr are all vehicles that can bring the human heart to the presence of Allah, and receive all secrets from him".
~~¥~~
"Beginning with light is the ride (vehicle) of the heart and the deepest heart". [Imam Ahmad ibnu Atha'illah].
This 53rd wisdom, is a further explanation, than the previous wisdom. It has been mentioned in the previous wisdom that: Allah swt brings to a person a light called "Nurul Bidayah", and Allah brings another light called "Nurul Washotiyah", and Allah brings to his servant another "Nurun Nihayah.
In this 53rd wisdom, he (Imam Ahmad) likens (mumbles): That the lights are like a vehicle. Our vehicle leads to a goal that is blessed by Allah swt.
[1] NURUL BIDAYAH. 'Nurul bidayah' the first light, this is the vehicle of a servant. So 'Nurul Bidayah' the first light, which God gave us is our vehicle (if we want to cross) from Sin to Repentance, from Negligence to Remember (care), from turning away from God to facing God.
What we have always forgotten about Allah, then we want to always remember (take care of), his vehicle is 'Nurul Bidayah'.
All this time we have turned our backs on God, then if we want to face God, the vehicle is called 'Nurul bidayah' earlier.
[2] NURUL WASHOTIYAH. 'Nurul washotiyah' the second light, this is the vehicle of a servant from his busyness with creatures to being busy with God.
Well, every day we have our own busyness; whether it's work, so we are busy with creatures! So if we want to move towards being busy with God, the vehicle is 'Nurul washotiyah'. There are some people who are busy with worship! For example, at this hour reading the Qur'an, it's time to pray dhuha prayer, the next hour to study, dhuhur prayer at the mosque, after noon breaks, pray asr at the mosque, after asr study, etc.! Well these days people are busy with God. Now this is what we are aiming for, we are looking for, and this is one that Allah will ask us in the hereafter. GOD SAYS: "O So and so, son of so and so, I gave you 65 years of age, where did you end up (busy)?". Well, this one by one will be asked by Allah.
Well, when we are busy with matters that we did not take to death, busy with those that we will leave behind, well we will be in trouble! We must be busy with things that are useful for tomorrow (the hereafter). Well, when our busyness is filled with acts of worship, then it is called 'Busy with truth'.
[3] NURUN NIHAYAH. 'Nurun nihayah' the final light, this is the vehicle of a servant instead of seeing himself to see his Lord, rather than loving the creature to loving the one who created the creature.
All along we see ourselves; us! Don't remember that we are; First: created by God. Second: we cannot be separated from the care and help of Allah. Now if we always feel that we were created by God, we are helped by God, guarded by God; that's what we call God! Don't see ourselves again! Now that's something noble, which was achieved with the vehicle called 'Nurun nihayah' earlier.
IMAM AHMAD IBNU ATHA'ILLAH, He gave an example; the lights were like vehicles. Light is our vehicle towards goodness. The vehicle won't come to us by itself!
WE CAN GET THIS LIGHT (VEHICLE) BY:
[1] THAT (VEHICLE) LIGHT CAN BE OBTAINED BY INSTRUCTION. Well that light (vehicle) can be obtained by inheritance. Does your father contain (own) a vehicle? if he dies, we can inherit. Or does Grandpa contain a vehicle? if he dies, we can inherit. Now, this is an example, that we can get that light because of the pious dzurriyyat (descendants) first. We can get these lights because our dzurriyyat was once a great person of piety; arise we follow too, got his share. Well, we are with the vehicle earlier! We don't know the story, there's a legacy. Well the same with that light.
[2] OR, THAT (VEHICLE) LIGHT CAN BE GIVEN BY PEOPLE. Now, we can get the vehicle (light) by giving it to people. It's also possible, there are people who drive vehicles, give vehicles as prizes, donate vehicles! So also this light, we can get it thanks to the prayers of pious people to us. This pious person prays for us, that pious person also prays for us! Many pious people pray for us! Finally we get that light, then we become people who repent from immorality, then we become people who always remember Allah!
[3] OR, THAT (VEHICLE) LIGHT CAN BE OBTAINED WITH EFFORT. Making money, with us working! if the incisors, gardening, take the wages! with this way of working that; After the money is collected, just buy a vehicle. Well this can be done! Well, we can also work on that light, for example by:
"Seeking knowledge! So if we are often studying; although not yet able to practice it; but we keep learning! Or,
Spend wealth in the way of Allah! He has socialized his wealth, so he becomes a generous person! Well this is an attempt to get the light earlier! Well, the same as the person who exchanged the vehicle earlier!.
So that's a benefit taken from his parable, that the light is like a ride (vehicle).
So if this person, this vehicle (light)? Inheritance can be, (inheritance from parents already many), Give people there, (given lots of friends), This person is also actively looking for (of course it contains the treasure!). Well the same with the light? This person has dzurriyyat pious people, This person is always loved (prayed) by pious people, This person is also active in studying, active in worship. Now, there will always be lights coming to this person, so that he will speed up his path towards this noble goal.
NOW THIS FIRST.!
THE SECOND!
That ride or vehicle requires 'Giza' or 'Alaf' or Bbm (fuel oil). This ride or vehicle requires oil; if it's not greasy, it won't be able to walk! Likewise, the lights come to us, come with 'syarah'! but if there's no oil, then that's it! can't slide walk. Now the name is again a mount, like the horse, to be fed, to drink! So also this light, needs food, drink, with which this light reaches its goal more quickly.
Well, what is the food of those lights, depending on the light!
THE FIRST: The first vehicle, namely: "NURUL BIDAYAH". So that this 'Nurul bidayah', who is from immorality, quickly repents, who has many sins so that his sins are quickly removed! What does this person eat? Namely: "Increasingly 'Laa ilaaha illallah', this is the bbm (oil)! The more we say 'Laa ilaaha illallah', the more our sin disappears. So when this sin disappears, it is automatically light! Well if it is light, it can fly. Then quickly Well, so 'Laa ilaaha illallah' is the best dhikr, for those who are still in sin, for those who want to repent.
RASULULLAH SAW SAID: "Renew your faith! He was asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, how do we renew our faith? He said: 'Increasingly you say 'Laa ilaaha illallah". (this is for people who forget a lot about Allah, who are always busy with worldly affairs! This is not keeping their faith! Anything that is not kept, it is not good!).
Because of the worldly busyness that we take care of, until we sleep we dream about worldly affairs! For example: The person is a merchant, who is busy with his trade!. His dream, of course, is not far from his usual, he dreams of trading anyway! not far from that!
There are people busy with trading! I want to ask for practice so that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, dreams! This can't be. He is busy with trading, he wants to ask the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, which is suitable!. If this person is busy doing righteous deeds, busy studying knowledge, busy reading sholawat; ask for practice so that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, dreams, Well this just fits! Because our dreams exist from our busyness.
RASULULLAH SAW SAID: "Everything has its shine (like a mirror, when we rub it it will shine, etc.!), and the shine of the heart is dhikr". When our heart is filled with the worldly, then our heart becomes cloudy. Well the heart must be polished, before it rusts. Polishing with dhikr, and the best dhikr is 'Laa ilaaha illallah'.
Now this 'Laa ilaaha illallah' dhikr is the right one for this first vehicle meal!
SECOND: (Well, this is a different vehicle, the oil is different! Some are partamax, some are premium, and there are diesel fuel!). Well, this second one is different! Well this is already good, heading to the better. Now this food is the dhikr of 'Allah, Allah, Allah'. People who can repent of all their sins, people who can remember their Lord. This person has nothing to do with sin anymore! This person Worship is good! Now this person's most appropriate dhikr with him is 'Allah, Allah, Allah'. Now this person's heart is clean, he remembers a lot with Allah, worldly activities are no longer there! So the best way to multiply the dhikr is 'Allah, Allah, Allah'.
AND THE THIRD: Well this is the top person! Towards the highest. This is a good person, noble! He wants to the height, to the top! Well, that is his dhikr 'Huw(a), Huw(a), Huw(a)', Well this is the food of the vehicle! 'Huwa' means 'She'. Why is it necessary to remember Him, Him, Him? Because this person only knows God, he does not know anything other than God. So when 'He', God is already that! If we are 'he', what kind of 'he' is that? Because we know a lot! We know sifulan, sifulan, sifulan! Example: "he came huh? who is he?" If the person who knows only God; when it's 'He', it means the target: God is already that! So people who are like this do not remember 'Laa ilaaha illallah' anymore, not 'Allah, God, God' again! but 'Huw(a), Huw(a), Huw(a)', this is the dhikr.
So, what is the most appropriate one for us, what we multiply first is the remembrance of 'Laa ilaaha illallah'. Because we are still in a state where we forget a lot about God, our busyness in the world is still 90%; like it or not, we admit it. Just count? The week counts, how many days, how many hours; measure the world by the hereafter that we are busy?. Well, 90% of our time is mundane! even us who sleep is the world! So, so we are like this, what we should do is to multiply the remembrance of 'Laa ilaaha illallah'. Expand 'Laa ilaaha illallah', then it will cleanse the heart, from all kinds of impurities earlier.
"When God wants to convey His servant to His closeness, His love, God gives the servant taufik to do so. God makes his path easy and God provides someone to guide him". (If God wants us to be noble people, to be people who come to His love, His closeness; God give us taufik, God make the path easy, God provide teachers and guides).
