The 57th Syarah of Wisdom – Syarah al-Hikam
57th WISDOM OF WISDOM - SYARAH AL-HIKAM
"Do not leave dhikr, because you cannot always remember Allah when you do dhikr, because your neglect of Allah when you are not dhikr is more dangerous than your negligence towards Allah when you do dhikr." May Allah raise your rank from dhikr with negligence, to dhikr accompanied by the remembrance of Allah, then also rise from dhikr with awareness of remembering, to dhikr with a sense of being present, and from dhikr accompanied by a sense of being present to dhikr until you forget everything other than Allah. And that for Allah is not heavy [not difficult].
Four conditions related to dhikr:
1: Remembrance in a state of heart not remembering Allah.
2: Remembrance in a state of heart that remembers Allah.
3: Dhikr with a sense of Allah's presence in the heart.
4: Dhikr in the mortal state of the creatures, everything disappears from the heart, only Allah is there.
A salik cannot leave Dhikr, because his heart cannot yet remember/face Allah. but he should still always remember even if his heart is still not able to meditate.
Because the person who leaves the dhikr is far from Allah, his heart and his tongue. different from people who want to dhikr, even though their hearts are still far from Allah because they cannot remember Allah when they do dhikr, but their tongues are close to Allah.
because it is not difficult for Allah to change the mood of His dhikr servant from a bad atmosphere to a better one until it reaches the best. Raising one level [degree] to another [degree], dhikr is the only path that is closest to Allah, even very easy and light.
Abu Qasim al-Qusyairy said: "Dhikr is a symbol of the region [of valor], and a lamp of light to reach, and a sign of the health of the beginning, and shows the clarity of the end of the peak, and there is no deed equal to dhikr, because all deeds are aimed at dhikr, then dhikr is like the soul of all deeds. While the advantages of dhikr and its importance cannot be limited".
Allah said: "Remember [remember] me, I will surely remember [remember] you." [QS. Al-Baqarah 152].
In the Qudsi hadith, Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla said: "I always follow My servant's thoughts about Me and I am always with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers [remembering] in himself. I also remembers him in My essence and if he remembers Me in a crowd, then I remember him in a crowd that is better than his group, and if he comes closer to Me by a span, then I come closer to him by a cubit, and if he comes closer to Me a cubit, I come to him a cubit, and if he comes to Me walking, I will come to him walking quickly."
Abdullah bin Abbas, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "There is no obligation that Allah imposes on His servants except that there are limits, then for those who excuse themselves, they are forgiven if they are unable to do it, except for dhikr, then there is no limit and no there is an excuse that can be accepted for not dhikr, except if the mind changes [crazy].
Allah says: "... For those who have a mind [perfect intellect]. Who always remembers [remembers] Allah while standing, sitting and lying down." [QS. Ali-Imran 190-191].
God's Word: "O you who believe, remember [remember] Allah with as much dhikr as possible. And glorify Him in the morning and in the evening."
Namely morning, afternoon, evening, night, on land, at sea, in the air, on the way [the traveler] is silent at all places and times, for those who are rich, poor, healthy, sick, openly or secretly by mouth or heart. and in every situation.
