The 65th Syarah of Wisdom – Syarah al-Hikam
65th STORY OF WISDOM , AL-HIKAM
"When you see an istikamah reading wirid, but (it seems) he rarely gets the gift of Allah, then do not criticize what he is going through. Because you have never witnessed firsthand the nature of their lives."
“the lives of those who have known and loved Allah. If it was not triggered by wirid, surely the abundance of God's gifts would never have existed."
The definition of the word "wirid" is the sunnah readings of the Prophet, but have a high reward quality. Such as reading the Koran, Istighfar, tahlil, tasbih, blessings and others. Can be done on a scale and scheduled or according to ability.
Well, the discussion this time focuses on the wisdom of Ibn Athaillah upfront more towards the effectiveness and effects of wirid. “Hey, wait a minute! Is wirid not bid'ah? Is there a legal basis for the Shari'a?”, maybe someone rich asks you.
Answer, said al-Buthi, it is true that the word "wirid" never appears in the verses of the Koran and the Prophet's Hadith. Such a statement is true. However, the evidence for the arguments that lead to recommendations for all Muslims to be istikamah to read wirid, turns out to be scattered and overwhelming!
Take a look at the verse that is recommended to multiply the following reading of the Qur'an,
(1) O people who are covered (Muhammad),
( 2 ) get up (to pray) at night, except a few (of them),
( 3 ) ( ie ) halves or subtract from that half a little .
( 4 ) or more than half of it. And read the Quran slowly. [Quran 73:1-4]
This verse, although ditanzil specifically for the Prophet, but the advice and reward for reading it, sunnah for all Muslims. Here is another motivational verse to increase the reading of dhikr at certain times,
(39) So be patient with what they say and glorify while praising your Lord before the sun rises and before it sets.
( 40 ) And glorify Him at night and after every prayer. [Quran 50:39-40]
There is another clearer argument about the recommendation of daily wirid,
So be patient with what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord before the sun rises and before it sets, and glorify at the times of the night and during the day, so that you may be happy, [Surah 20:130] ]
Or the verse of the Tahajjud prayer recommendation plus reading istighfar at night
(17) In this world they sleep very little at night.
(18) And always ask for forgiveness in the morning before dawn. [Quran 51:17-18]
The terms wirid and istighfar are the same. Tahlil is the same as wirid, also one. No need to insist, let alone anarchist. Very unimportant! So from now on, don't criticize people who like to read wirid.
Because, not all good things should be measured from the outward only. Especially if it is related to the relationship between Allah and His servants. Sometimes Allah even deliberately hides His chosen servant from the scrutiny of human eyes, so that his worship with Allah will not be disturbed.
The temporary conclusion means that the minimum sign of servants who are close to Allah is those who are istikamah and like to read wirid all the time. Because without Allah's guidance and love, the servant might not want to get closer to Allah by reading a lot of wirid.
So now you know more about reading wirid, right? That wirid has a positive effect if practiced continuously. This discussion has actually been thoroughly studied in the last 54 Hikam cult .
But remember, there is one thing that can make you go the wrong way: don't let your intention to read wirid be motivated by something other than Allah. Focus your intention only on worshiping Allah alone, nothing else. Because today many people who worship wrong.
Worshiping or reading is sometimes even intended so that you can quickly get a mate, quickly succeed in your business. Or even want to get rich quick. The quality of worship should not be judged by what you see. Allah only sees the goodness of His servant's worship from the inner heart of his servant. Worship and wirid that Allah likes are those that are istikamah, even if they are few. Maybe from a little but sincere his heart will be open.
So the point is, Ibn Athaillah is actually not giving us the opportunity to be easily suspicious of someone. However, positive thinking should always be prevented as early as possible. So that he does not spoil your mind later. As long as there is no reason that can be reasoned according to the Shari'a, why should you have negative thinking?
A wise man said: "Whoever you meet, then suspect him, lest he is the Prophet Khidir!", so there is no reproach for bad thoughts! Try not to indulge your passions, examine the ugliness of others, or be presumptuous; especially when it comes to feeling people.
In fact, sometimes people who are close to Allah are so good at hiding their goodness that they appear faint in the eyes of people. So know that those who are close to Allah will be protected from negative things. He fears that his status with Allah will be cut off. His heart was always shone with divine light. May we be among the servants of Allah who are destined to do so.
