70th WISDOM OF WISDOM,AL-HIKAM
GREED WILL BRING SHAME
٭ ماَ سَبَقتْ اَغْصاَنَ ذ ُلِّ ِاِلاَّ على بِذْرِ طَمَعٍ ٭
"It will not multiply the various branches of humiliation, except on the seeds of greed [gluttony]."
The nature of greed is part of the great shame that condemns the nature of servitude,
The nature of greed [greed] is the seed of all kinds of humiliation and humility.
The nature of greed is the source of all diseases of the heart, because greed only depends on humans, asks for help from humans, leans on humans, serves humans, which includes humiliation, because of doubting God's destiny.
Abu Bakr al-Warroq al-Hakim said: "Suppose that greed could be asked, 'Who is your father?' Surely the answer is, 'Doubtful about Allah's destiny.' And when asked, 'What is your job?' The answer is, 'Humble yourself.' And when asked, 'What is your goal?' He replied, 'Nothing.'
One saga says: "When Ali bin Abi Talib Karomalloh wajhah, just entered the Jami' mosque in Basra, he found many people giving lectures in it. So he tested them with several questions and those who could not answer correctly, then they were expelled and was not allowed to give a lecture in the mosque, and when he came to Hasan al-Basri's assembly, he asked, 'O young men! I will ask you something, if you can answer, I will allow you to continue teaching here, but if you could not answer, I expelled you like the rest of your friends, I have expelled it'.
Hasan al-Basri replied, 'Ask as you wish'.
Sayyidina Ali asked, 'What establishes religion?'
Hasan replied, 'Waro' [take care of yourself to stay away from everything that is dubious and haram].
Then Sayyidina Ali asked again, 'What can destroy religion?'
Hasan replied, 'Greedy'.
Imam Ali said to him, 'You can continue to teach here, it is people like you who can give lectures to the public'."
A teacher said: "Once upon a time in the beginning of my heresy in Alexandria, one day when I was going to buy a need from someone who knew me, it occurred to my heart; maybe he would not accept this money of mine, suddenly a voice said, ' Salvation in religion is only in severing the hopes of fellow creatures'." Waro 'in religion shows the belief and complete relying on Allah. Waro 'that is when he feels that there is no relationship between him and creatures, whether in giving, accepting or rejecting, and all of that is only seen directly from Allah Ta'ala.
Sahl bin Abdullah said: "In faith there is no intermediary cause view, because it is only in Islam before reaching faith."
All servants will definitely eat His sustenance, only different, there are those who eat with humiliation, namely beggars. There are those who eat His sustenance by working hard, namely the workers, there are those who eat His sustenance by waiting, namely the traders who wait until they buy their goods. As for those who eat His sustenance with a noble taste, that is the Sufi person who feels that there is no intermediary with God.
