The Story of a Boy Who Repents Three Prostitutes and Their Customers
Once upon a time, there was a man who had a boy. The boy has the name Luqman al-Habsyi. One day, Luqman al-Habsyi was taken by his employer to the market to be sold. When a buyer came who wanted to buy it, the buyer was asked by the boy, " What do you want to do to me? "
As explained by Ibnu Qudamah al-Maqdisi in his book at-Tawwabin , the buyer replied, " I will tell you this and this. " " Hearing the words of the person who wanted to buy it, he immediately said, " Please don't buy me. "
Not long after that, another buyer came. The boy asked again, " What do you want to do to me?" The buyer then replied, "I will make you the guardian of my house. "
Getting such an answer, the boy said, "Then buy me." The man then bought a boy named Luqman al-Habsyi and took him home.
The new employer of this Abyssinian slave turned out to have three daughters. However, all three became prostitutes whose customers were the people in the village.
One time the master wanted to go to see his garden. He also advised his slaves, " Indeed I have prepared food and whatever they need. After I leave, lock the door and sit guard behind it. Don't open it until I come. ”
After the master left, the daughters shouted to the slave who was guarding them, “ Open the door! ”
But the boy who took care of them didn't care. They were also excited by the boy's actions. They then came out of the room and injured the boy until his body was full of blood.
After cleaning the blood on his body, the slave sat back down to guard. When his master came home, it turned out that he did not tell the actions of his master's daughters.
Later, his employer again wanted to leave. The master also advised him, " I have prepared food and all their needs. Therefore, never open the door. ”
When the father had left, the three daughters of his master came out of his room and said to the guard, “ Open the door! ”
The guard still did not open the door for them. He still holds the mandate from his employer, which is not to open the door for his daughters. Because, if opened, they will meet their customers.
His employer's daughters were even more upset. They also hurt the slave again. However, when his master came from traveling, the slave still kept the treatment of the three daughters of his master a secret.
Seeing the behavior of the slave, the eldest daughter of the master was melted. He then said, " Why does this Habsyi slave prioritize obedience to Allah swt over me? By Allah, I will truly repent. Not long after, the youngest daughter of the master also repented. Until finally the middle daughter said, " Why are my two sisters and Habsyi's slaves more obedient to Allah than me? By Allah I will repent! "Finally, the three daughters of his master had all repented of his work as a prostitute.
The customers who saw this then said, “ Why are the slaves of Habsyi and the three daughters of the Fulan more obedient to Allah? ”
Apparently, the repentance is also followed by customers who often use their services. Those who originally often did acts forbidden by Allah swt turned into people who were worshipers in the village.
The faith and steadfastness of a housekeeper boy who is steadfast in carrying out his employer's trust and religious orders, apparently has a great influence on the people around him.
This at the same time shows that, the bad deeds that people often do to us, if we respond with a kindness someday can awaken and melt their hearts. So that those who originally hated, might turn out to be good to us. Because persisting in obedience to Allah swt, sometimes it can be a way for others to find Allah swt.
