The story of the Prophet Jacob
In short Thus, Prophet Jacob is the grandson of Prophet Abraham. One of the stories that can be learned as an example from the journey of Prophet Yakub As is about maintaining harmony in the family. Through Surah Huud verse 71, previously there had been an incident when the Prophet Abraham and his wife, Siti Sarah, were visited by an angel sent by Allah SWT to convey the good news.
"And his wife stood (behind the curtain) and she smiled, so We conveyed to her the good news about (the birth of) Isaac and from Isaac (to be born his son) Ya'qub".
As is known, at that time Sarah was about 90 years old. While Prophet Ibrahim was almost 120 years old. However, they were still blessed with a baby who would later become Prophet Ishaq. Then his son was born with the name Jacob. When born to his mother, Rifqah bint A'zar, Prophet Yakub As actually had a twin brother named Ishu. However, there was no harmony between the two of them. Quoted from the Suara Muhammadiyah page , there is no nuance of peace and love between the two twins. Ishu is even said to have started to envy and envy Jacob. The reason is, Ishu feels that his mother loves his twin brother more than himself. The hatred escalated when he got the news that Yakub had been proposed by Rifqah to be prayed for and blessed by Prophet Ishaq as a father.
Seeing the situation getting worse, Jacob tried to ask his father for advice on the best solution in dealing with Ishu. After hearing the complaints of one of his sons, Prophet Ishaq suggested that Jacob go emigrate to Fadan Araam in Iraq to avoid the impact of hostility with his siblings. Finally, Jacob went to the land of Iraq. There, he met his mother's brother named Laban. Later, two of Laban's children, Laiya and Rachel, were made wives by the Prophet Jacob.
From his wife Rachel, the Prophet Yusuf was born. As a good father, an example that can also be taken from the story of Prophet Yakub As is that he educates his children with a good education. Apart from that, he also gives advice and solves their problems wisely. One of the messages of the Prophet Jacob that was left to his son is also related to the message of piety to Allah SWT. Al-Quran surah Al-Baqarah verse 133 states:
Meaning: "Were you present when Jacob said to the son of death (signs) His sons: "What did you worship after I died?" They replied: "We will worship your God and the God of your ancestors, Abraham, Ishmael and Isaac, (i.e.) the One God and we will only submit to Him".
The Wisdom of Faith in Allah's
