Umar bin Khattab gave many examples in creating justice. When he became Caliph, he not only guaranteed justice to Muslims, but also non-Muslims. There are many stories that tell the second Caliph gave protection to non-Muslims during the conquest.

Leaders must be fair to everyone. It cannot be selective in issuing policies. Citizens must be treated equally, regardless of background. Umar bin Khattab gave many examples in realizing justice.

Habib Husein Ja'far , in one of his videos, recounts that there was a governor at the time of Caliph Umar bin Khattab who wanted to build a mosque. There was a Jewish hut there. The governor wants to evict the Jewish hut so that the land can be used maximally for the mosque. The owner of the hut objected. He reported this incident to Umar bin Khattab.

Sayyidina Umar took a bone, and outlined the bone with a sword. "Bring this to your governor," said Umar. The bone was brought to the governor, he immediately trembled when he received it, and the house of the Jew was not demolished.

The scratch of the sword on the bone as a message that the governor must act straight, fair to anyone. Don't just play around. "Forced eviction is a symbol of greed." Said Habib Husein Ja'far. If the leader is greedy, the people he leads will be far from prosperous. Mahatma Gandhi warned, "The world is enough for those who want to share, but not enough for the greedy few."

There are many admonitions in Islam not to do wrong, to be greedy, and to be greedy. All these teachings must be inculcated in daily practice, so as not to disturb many people. A good Muslim is one who does not make other people restless, anxious, and insecure.
