How was Hajj in the time of Prophet Adam?

How was Hajj in the time of Prophet Adam?

At the time when God wanted to create humans as caliphs on earth, there was a dialogue between God SWT and the angels, as recorded in the Qur'an God said to the angels: "Remember when your Lord said to the angels: "Indeed I want to make a caliph before earth".

They said: "Why do you want to make (the caliph) on earth a person who will cause damage to it and shed blood, when we always glorify you by praising you and sanctifying you?" God said: "Indeed I know what you do not know" (QS al-Baqarah: 30).

Hearing the words of God, the angels prostrated, they were afraid of the wrath of God SWT in their prostration while crying and begging for forgiveness from His wrath. Then they circumambulate, around the 'arsy (throne) in a long enough time, after God saw the activities of the angels then He created Baitul Makmur right under the 'arsy. It should be known that there is not only one Kaaba in this universe.

Based on the Al-Quran and Hadith, there are two Ka'bahs that are believed to be the house of God. In addition to the Kaaba that was built in Mecca, there is another Kaaba that is the direction of the Qibla of the people of the sky. The Kaaba in the sky is called Baitul Makmur and is located in the seventh heaven.

Just like the Kaaba in the world, Baitul Makmur is also surrounded by angels every day to perform tawaf. Based on the hadith of the Prophet, place the Kaaba in the sky in line with the Kaaba on earth. Just as the inhabitants of the earth prosper the Kaaba and make it the Qiblah, the inhabitants of the sky also prosper Baitul Makmur.

Prophet Muhammad SAW saw Baitul Makmur directly when performing Isra Mikraj to invite the order of prayer. Arriving in the seventh heaven, the Prophet with the Angel Gabriel was greeted by the Prophet Ibrahim. At that time the Prophet saw Baitul Makmur surrounded by thousands of angels. This story was told by the Prophet in his hadith:

"Then I saw Baitul Makmur. I asked Jibril. He replied: "This is Baitul Makmur, every day this place is visited by 70,000 angels to pray there. After they leave, they will not return to this place" (HR Bukhari and Muslim).

However, no one can know the exact number of angels except Allah Himself, as He says:

"And no one knows the army of your Lord, except He Himself" (QS al-Muddatstsir: 31).

After that, God sent his angels to earth to build a house similar to Baitul Makmur. Then God ordered the angels on earth and other creatures to circumambulate the house just as the inhabitants of the sky circumambulate at Baitul Makmur. Thus God created Baitul Makmur as a place of worship for the inhabitants of heaven, and the Kaaba on earth as a place of repentance and worship for the inhabitants of the earth.

After a long time of Prophet Adam's stay on earth always hoping for God's mercy and forgiveness, one day Prophet Adam received an order from God to perform the pilgrimage to the holy land, Mecca. In the book Mar'at al-Mafatih it is explained, Prophet Adam departed from his place of residence in the Indies and walked westward through Syria for forty years, until he reached Bakkah and performed tawaf with the angels who had been performing tawaf for more than 2,000 years (circling Ka' flood).

Prophet Adam AS then followed what the angels did and Prophet Adam was the first human to perform Hajj. The Kaaba was originally built by angels, then Prophet Adam was ordered to build the Kaaba again. As the word of God Swt.

"Indeed, the first house built as a place of human worship was Baitullah in Bakkah (Mecca), which was blessed and became a guidance for mankind" (QS Ali Imran: 96).

When Prophet Adam was engrossed in circumambulation in Baitullah and reached Multzam, the angel Gabriel said to him, "O Prophet of God Adam, confess all your sins in this place to your Lord".

Adam stopped, then said, "Oh my God, indeed every creature who does good deeds gets a reward. I have indeed done good deeds, what is my reward?"

Allah SWT revealed to him, "I forgive you for your sins." Prophet Adam As said, "O my Lord, also for my descendants?" Allah SWT revealed to him, "O Adam, whoever among your descendants comes to this place confesses his sins, repents as you repented, and asks for forgiveness, I will surely forgive."

Such is the dialogue of Prophet Adam AS with Allah SWT that it became a great hope for every grandson of his descendants to be able to visit Baitullah while asking for forgiveness from Him.
