Who was the friend who last saw the Messenger of Allah?

Who was the friend who saw the Prophet the last time? When the Messenger of Allah died, the Companions were in deep sorrow. His funeral took place a few days later. In his funeral procession, one of the companions involved was Mughirah.

ﻓﻠﻤﺎ ﻭﺿﻊ ﻓﻲ ﻟﺤﺪﻩ ﻗﺎﻝ اﻟﻤﻐﻴﺮﺓ: ﻗﺪ ﺑﻘﻲ ﻣﻦ ﺭﺟﻠﻴﻪ ﺷﻲء ﻟﻢ ﻳﺼﻠﺤﻮﻩ ﻗﺎﻟﻮا: ﻓﺎﺩﺧﻞ ﻓﺄﺻﻠﺤﻪ، ﻓﺪﺧﻞ ﻭﺃﺩﺧﻞ ﻳﺪﻩ ﻓﻐﻤﺲ ﻗﺪﻣﻴﻪ – ﺻﻠﻰ اﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ – ﻗﺎﻝ: ﺃﻫﻴﻠﻮا ﻋﻠﻴﻪ اﻟﺘﺮاﺏ. ﻓﺄﻫﺎﻟﻮا ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﺣﺘﻰ ﺑﻠﻎ ﺃﻧﺼﺎﻑ ﺳﺎﻗﻴﻪ، ﺛﻢ ﺧﺮﺝ ﻓﻜﺎﻥ ﻳﻘﻮﻝ: ﺃﻧﺎ ﺃﺣﺪﺛﻜﻢ ﻋﻬﺪا ﺑﺮﺳﻮﻝ اﻟﻠﻪ – ﺻﻠﻰ اﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ» -.

When the body of the Prophet was placed in the grave, al-Mughirah said:

"At the feet of the Prophet there is something that has not been addressed."

The friend said: "Go into the grave and fix it".

Mughirah then went into the grave, put her hands in and held the feet of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallama.

Mughirah said: "Take the land".

The companions took the soil up to half his calf.

Then Mughirah came out and said: "I am the one who has just (last) met the Messenger of Allah -peace and prayer of Allah be upon him-"
