Looking at the Prophet's House of Struggle

Looking at the Prophet's House of Struggle

Early in the morning Abu Dharr went again to the Kaaba. He had been staying in Mecca for several days. Suddenly someone approached him and reprimanded him. He invited Abu Dharr to his house. The two don't know each other and talk. "Are you going to tell me, what really prompted you to come to this city?" the person asked. Abdu Dzar replied, "If you promise to guide me, I will answer your questions." The two then agreed.

Abud Dzar said that he went to Mecca in search of a prophet who had come with the truth. Then the man said, “Okay, tomorrow morning follow me. But I'm worried if someone sees you. That's why you should walk some distance behind me. If someone saw me I would stop pretending to pee. If you see me walking again, follow from behind, then if you see me going into a house, follow me through the door I went through!”

The next day Abdu Dzar set out and followed him from a distance. Finally entered a house. When Abu Dzar entered, it turned out that inside the house there were several people who were gathering. Know later that the one who invited to the house was Ali bin Abu Talib. So Abu Dzar also met Muhammad the Messenger of God. And the house he entered was the house of Al Arqam bin Abi Arqam.

Yes, Al Arqam's house. The house of the Prophet's struggle. in that house every day 40 friends gathered who became followers of Islam the first time. That's where the beginning of the struggle of the Prophet in upholding the message of Islam. There is something unique about the owner of the house. Abu Abdillah al-Arqam bin Abi al-Arqam can be said to be a mysterious friend. In Mecca he was known as a famous merchant from the Bani Makhzum. In the records it is mentioned as the seventh person of assabiqunal awwalun. He lives not far from the hill of Safa.

Its location is indeed a strategic place to spread da'wah secretly. Rasulullah saw. chose this house because the polytheists of Mecca did not know that al-Arqam had converted to Islam. Another reason is that Al Arqam's house is very close to the Grand Mosque and the Kaaba. Plus al-Arqam embraced Islam at the age of 16 years. So the Quraysh did not think that the gathering was held at the house of al-Arqam but at the place of senior Muslims.

Many people embraced Islam in the house of Al-Arqam until Umar bin Khattab converted to Islam as the last person to pledge allegiance in the house of Al-Arqam. After Islam was preached openly. In addition, Arqam bin Arqam is a family of Bani (tribe) Makhzum. At that time Bani Makhzum was the most hostile and rival tribe of Bani Hasyim.

Ar Arqam is a mysterious friend. Until now very few historians know about it. His figure almost lost to the fame of his house. Al-Arqam was among the first emigrants to migrate to Medina. His struggle to uphold the truth is unquestionable. Al Arqam took part in the battle of Badr. Al Arqam died in 55 H in the city of Medina, he died in his eighties.
