Was it true that Prophet Adam was in Heaven?

Was it true that Prophet Adam was in Heaven?

The majority of scholars believe that the paradise that is described in the Qur'an is the eternal paradise of the hereafter. Then people ask; how is it possible that the heavens where the obedient people can be entered by the sinners? Then how is it possible for people to enter and leave heaven arbitrarily, even though Allah has decreed that whoever enters Paradise will not be able to get out?

The word heaven has many meanings, but people will think that if it is called heaven it must refer to eternal heaven. However, regarding its use in the Qur'an, only Allah knows. As for considering the word heaven to have multiple meanings, it is permissible, it is like the words Hajj and prayer. The two words had different meanings when Islam came. The word prayer literally means prayer, but when Islam came that meaning developed into a practice of worship determined by the Shari'a.

According to the language, the word heaven means cover ( as-Satr ), a shady place of so many trees that it allows humans to be covered (limited) by it. Or a place with lots of trees and fruit so that people can freely take it. Or, heaven is a place that is so closed that it is impossible for humans to go out and live there in secret but have all their needs met.

There are two meanings of heaven in the Qur'an, namely the meaning of language and the meaning of heaven hereafter. It is mentioned in Surah al-Baqarah: 266 " Is there anyone among you who wants to have a garden of dates and flowing grapes ". Likewise in Surah al-Baqarah: 265, Surah al-Kahf: 32 and Surah Saba: 15.

In the verses above mentioned the word heaven which means heaven on earth, not heaven hereafter. Some scholars argue that Allah distinguishes between heaven on earth and heaven in the hereafter. Indeed, absolutely, if it is said that heaven must be heaven of the hereafter, but if it is said that heaven ( jannah ) without any tools (to make makrifat : certain) then it is called heaven on earth.

However, some other scholars do not agree with the opinion above, because it turns out that there is the word heaven without makrifat but means heaven in the hereafter. Others argue that Allah entered Adam and his wife, Eve, into eternal paradise, but when they both disobeyed then they were expelled from it, so that if they did not sin, they would both remain in heaven.

Question, the prophet Adam is a creature created to live and protect the earth. Therefore, it is not said: if the prophet Adam had not sinned, he would always be in heaven. The question is: Prophet Adam is a substitute for Allah on earth ( caliph fil ardh ) why should he live in heaven first?

It turns out that there is a wisdom that is so that the prophet Adam understands God's method, which is a command and a prohibition. When the devil comes, then the devil's command is God's prohibition, and vice versa. There Satan has changed what God has given him. Therefore, when the prophet Adam has understood the method then he will know the consequences; what will happen if he obeys or if he disobeys (mbalelo). The commandment to take as he pleases while in heaven and forbid to approach the tree ( khuldi ) is Allah's method (shari'a).

So, now we know that the prophet Adam did not live in the afterlife. Heaven hereafter is intended after the imposition of the Shari'a ( taklif ), namely for retaliation ( reward ) for those who carry out God's methods in the form of commands and prohibitions. After all, in the concept of heaven and the afterlife, anyone who has entered cannot leave forever.
