What the Prophet did during Isra' and Mi'raj

What the Prophet did during Isra' and Mi'raj

When the Prophet was sleeping at Hajr Aswad. Suddenly someone came to wake him up. The Prophet thought that this person was Jibril, unfortunately the Prophet did not see anyone when he woke up. The Prophet closed his eyes again. When the Prophet began to close his eyes, suddenly someone was moving his feet to wake him up. Countless times the prophet woke up from his sleep and there was no one in front of him. The third time when the prophet woke up, suddenly Jibril was beside him.

Jibril also invited the prophet out. Outside, an animal called a buraq is ready to take him to the place that Allah has destined for him. Buraq brought the Prophet and his two bodyguards, namely Jibril and Mikail to Baitul Maqdis.

Isra' Nabi and Introduction to previous prophets

Before reaching Baitul Maqdis, Gabriel invited the Prophet to pray in several places first. Namely Tayyibah (Madinah al-Munawwarah, later to be the place of the Prophet's migration), Madyan (the place where Prophet Moses sheltered when avoiding the pursuit of Pharaoh), Turshina (where Prophet Moses received revelation from God), and Bethelhem or Bait al-Lahm (the birthplace of Jesus ).

After the prayer, the prophet continued his journey back to Baitul Maqdis. Arriving in Baitul Maqdis, Prophet Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus and the Prophets welcomed the arrival of the Messenger of Allah. They were indeed deliberately prepared by God so that they could meet the Messenger of God. There is nothing they do except to be Makmum from the Messenger of Allah.

The meeting of the Prophet with some of the earlier prophets is proven by the prophet's memory in describing the characteristics of some of the prophets encountered during Isra' and Mi'raj. The Messenger of Allah described the characteristics of the previous prophets while mentioning which companions were most similar to the prophet. Even the prophet himself said that he is similar to the appearance and physique of the prophet Ibrahim.

In addition to the several prophets above, the Prophet also met several other prophets during Mi'raj. Among them are Prophet Adam whom the prophet met in the first sky, met with Jesus again in the second sky, met the prophet Yusuf in the third sky, Prophet Idris in the fourth sky, met the prophet Aaron in the fifth sky, met again with the prophet Moses in the sky to six. Act when he reached the sky the 7 prophets met a person who was very similar to him, namely the prophet Abraham.

The power of Allah SWT to bring the previous prophets together with the Messenger of Allah is as a da'wah reference for the Prophet SAW to answer various questions raised by the infidels about the previous prophets. It is also a medium of proof that the message brought by the Messenger of God is really a perfecting of the teachings and religion that have been brought by the prophets before him.

Mi'raj and means of the Prophet knowing some types of people

In the narration of Abu Said al-Hudri quoted by Ibnu Hisham, when the Prophet reached the first heaven and met Prophet Adam, the Prophet also met several different types of people.

First, the Prophet saw a group of people whose faces were similar to the faces of camels and whose hands were holding coals of fire. Not only grasped, the coals of fire they eat and come out of their anus. This group is people who eat the property of orphans unjustly. Because the treasure is a treasure that is not lawful, then Allah compares it to a very hot coals of fire. It was as if anyone who ate it would reap destruction.

In addition, the Prophet also met a group of people whose stomachs were very strange. These people seem to be thirsty. These people are the parable of those who love to eat usury. Even though their bellies are bulging, they still feel inadequate

Then the Prophet saw people who preferred to eat rotten meat even though beside it was delicious and tender meat. This is a parable for a woman or a man who already has a legal partner, but still has an affair with people who are not their husband/wife.

In Dardir Mi'raj , Sheikh Najmuddin al Ghaiti also mentioned several other stories, such as the story of Masyitah who was willing to be cooked alive with his family just to fight for his belief and principles in the religion of God. In addition, the story of the slanderers that he did the same thing and the story of his words had a great impact but he could not stop the impact after he left.

From the story above, the prophet is actually being given a grid by God regarding the types of people he will face when preaching. Namely, among them are, eaters of orphans' wealth, perpetrators of usury, and adulterers. It is as if the stories that are shown to the prophet are a small training about knowing the types of people he will face. Of course, with this training, the prophet would not be surprised if he later met such people.

From the meeting of the Prophet with his predecessor prophets and the meeting of the prophet with several types of his people, it is nothing but a visualization of learning that God did to the Prophet. The Prophet's meeting with his predecessors was like a junior meeting with seniors who had experienced both sweet and bitter. After that the prophet was met with various kinds of different people. This effort seems to have been made by Allah SWT so that the prophet mixes the right composition when preaching later. This indirect learning to the prophet is one of the things that affects the success of the prophet's da'wah. Wallahu nature.
