Thalut's Greed can be Awakened by David's Patience

Thalut's Greed can be Awakened by David's Patience

Dawud is the spearhead of Thalut's fight against Jalut. Dawud's victory over Jalut increased Thalut's confidence to elevate him to a government office. Dawud was even married to Thalut's daughter named Mikyal.

In the eyes of the people, Dawud is a hero. He is so great and exalted. He was so great and so welcome.

However, whatever the heart says. Hearts are always fickle. The heart is never consistent with one attitude. As the name suggests, qalb often goes back and forth and no one can guess.

The same is true of Thalut's attitude towards Dawud. I don't know why when we met, Thalut's face was very sour. It seems to be saving something. It seems that there is something that Dawud did that made him angry.

In this uncomfortable condition, Dawud began to work up the courage to ask his wife, Mikyal. Dawud's wife, who is the daughter of Thalut, clearly understands what circumstances are befalling Thalut, so that she acts like that towards Dawud.

"O my wife, what do you think I have done so that your father put a sour face on me. Looks like he's mad at me."

Mikyal answered softly and stammered.

“O my husband, my father is a believer. He is very good with all his people. But mind you! He's a king. The attitude of the people all this time that hailed you made him worry. He is also worried that people will respect you more than they respect him. That's just my guess. But let's hope it's not true."

Dawud felt uneasy with the news conveyed by his wife. So far, he hasn't asked for anything. He is just a soldier who is always at the forefront against the enemy at the behest of his king.

One day Thalut called Dawud. He ordered Dawud to go to the battlefield. Thalut ordered that Dawud exterminate the Canaanites who were mobilizing their forces to fight. Dawud could only submit to the king's orders. He set out with his best troops.

But Thalut hopes otherwise. He hoped that Dawud would die on the battlefield so that nothing else could threaten his power.

Unfortunately, Thalut's hopes missed. Dawud actually got a real victory. He was increasingly revered by his people. No doubt, this made Thalut even more angry and agitated with the existence of his power.

Thalut apparently has planned something. He intends to kill Dawud. Mikyal, Dawud's wife, sniffs out the plan. Mikyal immediately told her husband about it. She wanted her husband to run away so that his father's plan would fail. He also doesn't want to lose the person he loves.

Dawud's departure received sympathy from the people of Thalut. Many people prefer to leave the kingdom to join Dawud rather than stay in the kingdom.

Seeing that, Thalut became even more angry. He acted brutally. Accused Dawud sympathizers and killed him.

The events of Thalut's arbitrariness were heard by Dawud and those who had joined him. He must fight against the arbitrariness of Thalut. And war is unavoidable.

One night when Thalut fell asleep at his camp. Dawud came to take the spear he had. When morning, Thalut could not find him. The entire army was ordered to search for the whereabouts of the spear. Suddenly, Dawud's messenger came carrying his spear.

"This is your spear, O Thalut. If Dawud had wished, he would have cut off your head that night."

Dawud's patience and wisdom turned out to be awakening Thalut. He ordered an end to the war. He also requested that Dawud return to his kingdom. He repented to God for the evil he did. He left his kingdom without his whereabouts being known. His kingdom was then led by Dawud. The Israelites then expressed their loyalty to Dawud.
