Kanzun al-Najah wa al-Surur is a holy-blooded archipelago scholar's book in Central Java. His name was Abd al-Hamid bin Muhammad 'Ali Quds bin Abd al-Qadir al-Khatib bin Abd Allah bin Mujir Quds or commonly known as Sheikh Abdul Hamid. He was classified as a prolific scholar in his time. Twelve works were recorded and some were lost. Apart from Kanzun al-Najah wa al-Surur, there is another book by Sheikh Abdul Hamid which has been widely studied in various Islamic boarding schools, namely Lataif al-Isharat Sharh Tashil al-Turuqat li Nadhm Waraqat in the field of ushul fiqh studies.
Kanzun al-Najah wa al-Surur is a book of a collection of prayers and amaliyah of the salaf al-salih in accordance with the Hijriyah days and months . In his presentation, he quoted several verses and selected hadiths. Among the virtues he mentioned are the five virtues of the month of Ramadan.
First, Ramadan is a very glorious month. Among his glory is the opening of the gates of heaven and the closing of the gates of hell. Every night before breaking the fast, Allah swt prepares ten thousand forgiveness.
Second, based on the history of Salman al-Farisi ra said, the Messenger of Allah gave a sermon at the end of the month of Sha'ban, he said "O people, we have been overshadowed by a glorious month, a month full of blessings, in which there is a lailatul qadar which is more noble than a thousand months. Allah swt made fasting obligatory and praying at night as sunnah. On the next point, Sheikh Abdul Hamid also mentioned the history of the meaning of Abu Hurayrah ra.
Third, Rasulullah saw said; there are five things given to my ummah in the month of Ramadan that have never been given to the ummah before, namely the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is more fragrant in the sight of Allah swt is more fragrant than the smell of musk oil, the Angels will ask forgiveness for them until they break their fast, the devils will be shackled, Allah swt will decorate heaven every day, and they will be forgiven at the end of every night.
Fourth, the news about heaven's door. Between the doors there is one named al-rayhan, no one enters it except those who are fasting.
Fifth, the words of the Prophet regarding fasting and the Koran, both of which are able to intercede on the Day of Judgment. The practice of fasting will say; "O my Lord, I have forbidden him to eat and restrain his desire during the day so let me intercede for him." The practice of reading the Koran also says; “O my Lord, I forbade him to sleep at night (because of reading the Qur'an) so let me intercede for him. Then Allah swt made the two deeds as syafa'at.
